if you feel like taking a channe try this
take you stock bulb and your HID bulb and put them next to each other
align them up as best as you can and use a dremel to reshape any of th 3 tabs of the HID to match the stock bulb and then you might get lucky
be very careful. and you might want to test fit it as you go

the H11 bulb physically won't fit in the OEM fog light housing. IF they got it to work, they did some fabricating to either the HID bulb tabs or the OEM fitting.

I thought about that, and thought it may be safer to take the dremel to the OEM housing to make one of the spaces for the HID tabs bigger. Less likely to do major damage to something that way. But I think I'm gonna try to get a hold of xenondepot (who have been on "vacation" for the last 2 wks & haven't been taking phone calls or replying to emails) & exchange for an H8 kit.

so, i ended up doing a little filing to the OEM fog light housing (where the spaces & tab line up at the base of the bulb) & got the H11 bulbs to fit.

yeah, that's where I got mine. The kit was great, the only thing that sucked is that they were on vacation for 2 wks (jan 30 - feb 19), right after I bought the kit. They weren't taking phone calls, so the only way to communicate w/them was via email. They weren't too great at answering those either. But, I finally heard back from someone yesterday & they told me that the H11's should fit, but I may have to do some minor altering. He said that the H8 & H11 bulbs have the same base, so keep that in mind when you get your H8's. If they don't fit perfectly you may end up doing the same thing I did.

Question!

Hey, totally dig the 12000kelvin fog light bulbs. Here is a question for you if you don't mind answering.

I have an 2007 TL and want the same HID fog light bulbs on my car. Can you tell me the brand of HID's you have and if they were just plug and play bulbs or if I have to do more installation than that? I'm new to the whole working on my car thing but I really want the HID fog lights. Also, are those stock or after market headlight HIDs that you have?

Thanks

The manual says the bulb is 12V-35W but doesn't ballast usually need an inital boost of 13V? Or is that not an issue.
Where did you guys hide the ballast?
What brand kit did you guys buy?
The stock HIDs are 4300k if I recall correctly. Does 4300k fog kit have a different color and intensity since the light is dispersed in the fog. Would a 5000k make the lights have similar look.

Thanks.

Can you show me a link of where to get it? or where online you got it? Also, there has been alot of talk on the forum about H11 and H8 bulbs. Which one would I need for my stock TL? Thank you again so much for your help. I really do appreciate it.

i got my kit from xenondepot.com. it's the 3000k kit - here's the link -

http://www.kbcarstuff.com/Xtreme_HID..._Kits_s/21.htm

i got the H11 bulbs & they fit in the OEM housing after about 60 seconds of sanding/filing on the housing (to get the tabs on the HID bulbs to fit in the holes). i did the install myself & it took about an hour & a half. my first HID install too.

i wouldn't trim the tabs on the HID's simply because then you run the risk of touching the bulbs & messing them up. What I did was file the OEM fog housing for about 60 seconds on each housing, it's just plastic & it makes the needed room for the tabs on the H11 bulbs to fit, and the OEM bulbs will still fit if you want/need to put them back in. It's much easier then fingering the HID's up, and it's pretty quick.

plug and PRAY

Do the Plug and Play kits require a connection to the vehicle battery or is it just connected to the stock foglight plugs?

I was thinking of buying these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...mZ380007892121

I dont see any relays or connections to the battery needed in the photo...

all you need is a 8 or 10 MM socket(can't remember what size) and a flat head to pop the clips to get to the back of the housing but i removed my front bumper to make it a lot easier and clean to run the wires(i had mine wired with a relay)

Question About Electrical Harness

Hi!! Hey guys, i've been wondering if i will have any problems installing HID's on my fog lights due to the standar electrical wiring on my 2002 Acura TL-S i have been researching about those relay's direct to the battery, My car has already installed (20amp) fuses for both OEM standard Fog's. in other words do i really have to worry about getting those relays or that only apply for the newer 2005's-to-up TLs???. thanks for your reply's

I'd like to get the slim ballasts off of xenonspecs.com but I cannot find the relay harnesses on their site. Can anyone give me some feedback on where they got their relay harnesses online?

Ok, I'm probably one of the few people out there that do not care for yellow fogs. I want my fogs to match up with my stock HID's. (07 Type-S). Would it make more sense just to get a 4300K HID kit for my fogs?

Would it be a near perfect match?

Hey guys does anyone do the yellow film thing? I was thinking about doing 6000k HIDs with yellow Film. But I am worried about the color, Should I do 4300k with yellow film. OR should I forget that plan and stick to the classic 3000k bulb. I kind of like the yellow film because it looks good when the lights aren't turned on. Any help is appreciated, I am short on time so please help!

Anyone know the easiest way to take the diagram cover off? It's the metal cover that restricts the light output of the bulbs. It looks like it is held on by only a Philips screw, but I'm guessing the only way to remove that is to take the fog light housing apart...

Don't remove that, especially if you're going to run hid's.

Without that you can seriously blind oncoming drivers.

Does anyone know how to take it off???
