They are 8000K, it took about 1 hr and 30 mins to install and I needed a relay because the fogs would flicker and then just blow the fuses. I upgraded the stock ones as well as the foglights. Its installed right in front of the wheel well right behind the bumper.

Here is a basic video on how to install them. I used this pretty much, since it is a different car the application is differnt.

You will need a relay for the fogs and be careful to have them off when installing or working with the hid's. It can shock you real badd!!
I got special bulbs for the acura headlight HID's so I would not have to modify the housing.
The best place to work on them is between the front tire and front bumper. The compartment right in front of the tire will give you direct access to those hard to reach projectors.

i have found some less expensive kits, for under $200. but to me -- getting support from the company i buy from is just as important as the price. i'm a little hesitant to buy stuff like this off ebay, cuz the sellers not gonna give you any help or guarantee/warranty or whatever... just my

this diagram shows only one relay is needed. msala524, is this how you had your kit hooked up when only one light worked?

so is there actually a proper way to install the bulbs (handling and what not)? im ordering some kaixens and want to make sure that my money doesnt go down the drain.
also is it bad to do it in cold weather? should i wait until spring?

where are you getting your kaixen's? what color temp are you getting? i'm thinking about getting 3000k, but i cant seem to find any kaixens in that color temp.

Although, in the case of the TL foglights, I'm happy as long as they turn on and function anything like an HID bulb should. I'm also glad I got it for cheap. Sorry for those who have had bad experiences. This happens to me on occasion as well and you think to yourself "why didn't I just pay more and buy the better quality in the first place?" Afterall though, my reasoning for cheaper HID's was because all we're doing is adding an HID kit to a reflective type housing made for a halogen bulb. If I'm going to drop some serious cash, I would have found a used pair of BMW 3 series projector balls and retrofitted them into the foglight housing or something(04-06 TL).

As I inspected the bulb, the inner top electrode is bent, unlike the other bulb, so yeah, I've must of done it? I should of inspected the bulbs prior to install.
I'm glad that you have great experience with moving bulbs around, I actually help my boy at the mechanic/body shop, so by far I'm not a noob, thus I will not blame myself for this install, as my car was on an actual lift, and I had a very easy time installing the bulbs properly.
I will contact the place where I bought these bulbs, see if they can replace this one bulb as it only lasted a week. I did notice a strange cut off on this bulb, but I thought it needed time to fully function.
In regards to Kaixen vs Philips/GE, Philips/GE will always be the best, as most German cars have Osram/Philips in their stock, and so did you when you got your TL. And, like I mentioned prior, this could be just my luck with a defective bulb

yep Kaixens are great. you wont regret it. i also had 3000K HID fogs and they were bright. the color output wasnt as yellow as i wanted so i went with Höen Endurance bulbs instead. and yes i have changed bulbs numerous of times. if i had to count id say its in the thousands

yea C has notches cut to be used with both style bases....D2S and D2R are the different ones..... R and has a shield on the glass of the bulb that directs the light in a similar pattern out of a reflector the same way it would look like out of a projector... S doesnt have the shield because it goes in the projector.

i have a 07' tl and was thinking of getting hid for my fogs, but where is the best area to place a ballast when doing this conversion, ( somewhere behind the fornt bumper area or engine compartment....and can someone please confirm if you need two relays or just one.
