HFL question with 2 phones....

Can the HFL support 2 bluetooth phones in the car at the same time or will it only pair with one of them?

I am currently working on this issue with Johnson Controls (they developed HFL). You are suppose to be able to Pair up to 6 phones, go into Phone Setup and say "List", and HFL would list all paired phones. I currently have 2 Motorola V600 phones, but HFL will only let me pair one at a time. Although I can pair 1 V600 and 1 Nokia 6820 at one time. Johnson Controls are attempting to duplicate the problem and are suppose to call me back tomorrow.

I have two S/E T616 phones paired with my TL. However, my wife and I make a point of not having bluetooth on on both phones when we are in the car together.

I have 2 S/E T616 paired on my TL, but never get the chance to use it at the same time.

I thought 04TL could support/contain HFL BT links up to 6. If you pair two separately, each of them should be able to work when one is solely operated.

Back to Oct., after test-driving, the dealer ever paired his phone and mine individually. We're able to BT to that 04TL in different time.

If driver A pairs his T610, and driver B does T616, 04TL is supposed to work with T610 when A is driving. Or, B could flawlessly BT his T616 without any hassel if he's going to drive tomorrow. Their car should remember both of their setting as long as they have successfuly pairing.

Try it.

I don't think the car recogises the phone based on who the driver is. I believe it automatically links to the bluetooth phone it first discovers. For example, if you are driver 1 and using your wife's bluetooth phone the seat, mirrors etc. will be activated by your key fob but your wife's phone will link to the car. I have avoided having two paired bluetooth phones running bluetooth in the car at the same time. I am not sure which phone the car would choose to link with if they were both running bluetooth.

I think so. (I didn't mean it's followed the owners...) Right... who first brings his/her cell into the car's detectable range will win the right to use 04TL's HFL if they are all paired well already. But, would the second paired cell try to fight for the right while 1st cell has already occupied the HFL? We don't know, and I don't think so...

I suspect that once one phone is paired, the other one couldn't take over. However, I cannot test that theory because my phones are out getting firmware upgrades.

Let's check out this. http://www.acura.com/models/model_co...asp?module=tl# and check its demo... the same vehicle could support up to 6 paired BT cells... theoretically.

Anyone has two BT cells now?

Updated to my above post.

I spoke to Johnson Controls Tech today concerning pairing my 2 Motorola V600 phones and they said that there are a pool of addresses assigned to each phone and I possibly have 2 phones assigned the same address. They are going to contact Motorola to see if this can easily be checked. I'm waiting to hear back.
