No discounts, this dude is my dads older friend, we have been going to him for the past 7 years, since we came to this country. He by far does the best body work in CT. And I mean he will give you a price up front usually, you check out a car you find on copart.com or salvagedirect.com, call him tell him you are interested, he looks at it, make sure he can fix it, and its not to much damage or it doesnt look fishy, and then he will tell you well listen total for this car we can finish for 14,000 and that will be the price sometimes, it will be lower 1,000 or higher a few hundred, but when he gives u an estimate its usally solid. And if he buys a car with secret hidden damage, then he just put its back on the auctions and usuyally someones buys it, becasuee it doesnt list any hidden damages(Those cars usually end up over seas) Everything depends on how much the car will be bought of the auctions, it's a regualr bidding process, every mechanic will have his limit to how much he feels he needs to spend in order to make his money and be able to give you the price you want.

If you guys would of seen the 2004 Maxima when I fix got it from the auction you guys would of thought that car was just totaled to the max! But he did such a good job you wouldn't be able to tell, it's sick!
I did sell it, and damn it had to replace the 6 speed manual tranny at 25K, but it was a nice car. I had 48K on it, sold it for $11,000 Fully Loaded, with salvage title tho.
My Brother Scion TC, also was salvaged! He got it with 19K on the motor for $9700 that was 2 years ago!

not bad, this is actually a pretty good deal for someone who knows what there doing that is. was the engine hit or shifted in any way? or is it just the radiator support?

He didn't buy a type-s. . But the red TL is a type-s.. didn't buy from what I can tell.. too bad. The auction price on that one must have gone to at least $10-15K.

edit.. my bad.. I had an old page open.. didn't see the new post.. but yeah..

Those are nice wheels in the scion.. I'd pass on that Type-s in Oregon unless it went for $10k.. the front frame support, lower arms & suspension have to be destroyed.. You'd have to get under that puppy and get it running to see what it really needs. It's a nice SSM though.. too bad.

From viewing previous auction records, the TL-TYPE S, goes for anywhere from 5,500 to 8750! So that still leaves good room to save money!

Yah that scion is the limited edition, the funny thing that only 2500 were made and out body mechanic had 2 of them. My bro put some money in it, looks even better, he is 18 so for him it's a neat little ride.

Not sure if this link will work, but go to copart.com and click on top where it says current sales, type in the model make etc... and you will be able to see how much the cars go for! You can also view histroy to see how much each car was bought for.

I hardly see a red tl-s, I find it sexy.... however, I assue the overall cost to fix that would be around 6 to 8k?

Car has been done since last week, but they were waiting for the air bags, the air bags came in, and the dashboard didn't come in, so tomorrow the dashboard should come in and hopefully he can put them in and get it inspected, and registered if not the Thursday, but I am already very anxious it's been a month already

If you were taking the car in pieces anyway, I would have ponied up the extra dough to install the six speed. That's the best time to do it.
