Help needed!!

Hey everyone
I need some help from some experienced car buyers/car dealers

I purchased my new WDP TL about a week and a half ago.
Through the dealer I purchased an extended warranty and LoJack with the early warning system and purchase protection

I paid $2750 for the 7yr/70k warranty and $2780 for the LoJack.

The next day I called up other dealerships and I realized I could get it for far cheaper, found a 7yr/100k warranty for $1160 and the LoJack (no purchase protection) for $900

I went back to the dealer to either cancel both so I could get them elsewhere, or get him to match the price. He said I could cancel the warranty anytime I want, but legally I cannot cancel the LoJack (I have NOT had it installed yet).
Is this true? Is it worth having a lawyer pursue?

All I have to see is lawyers aren't free. You will end up paying a lawyer more than you can hope to recoup from the dealer.

I think you're going to need to chalk this up to something you should have done ahead of time (not after), and kick youself in the butt and don't make the same mistake next time.

I think I would wait for the install of the LoJack, make an excuse up, you're not canceling it, you're just trying to fit the install time into your busy schedule. Read the paperwork that came with the purchase of the LoJack, and perhaps call your state consumer protection and/or your Motor Vehicle dept. to find out exactly what your rights are in your state.

caveat emptor! (you'll probably have to look that one up)

Chalk it up to a learning experience and don't stress to hard over it. I would think they could cancel the LoJack if you pitched enough of a fit.

Good Luck

My extended warranty was $1295 for 7yr/100K...they didn't even offer lojack. If it wasn't installed...don't pay for it. I would make a scene if necessary. If you don't pay for it they can't sell it to you. Thats my opinion though, I don't know the law, but I think they're just feeding you some bull.

If your car is moved without your permission (by either a thief or a towing company) Lojack with notify you thats its being moved. If the car is moved too far or you dont okay the move, police are notified and can track your vehicle. 98% of vehicles have been recovered with lojack. I live in DC and frequently park on the street so this is a good investment for me.
