Heated Seat Issue. Anyone else?

At times when I get in my car it feels as though my heated seat is on even though they are not on low or hi. It does not seem to be all the time but when it happens it sucks because its hot out. Could it just be me sitting on the seat and its hot or could it be a short of some kind. I will see if it keeps happening.

I noticed it after someone in my passanger seat said his was hot. Then i felt mine was hot too.

I've noticed this too . . . particularly when it is very sunny . . . </sarcasm>

Seriously, though, try feeling the bottom and back of the passenger seat to see if they feel different relative to each other. The back of the passenger seat does not heat; only the bottom does.

I am constantly looking down at the button now that summer is around the corner cuz my back is cooking all the time...even with the AC running.

Funny, I never had this problem until my '04 seats were replaced with the '05/6's. There are now times I could swear the seat heaater is on low when it isn't. Had the dealer recheck and they say everythings OK.

One design defect though are placement of the seat heater switches. They're too easy to hit by accident. Ventilated seats would help.

dont have this problem at all since my car is always in the garage. are you cars parked out doors and in direct sunlight? have tint? sun visor? only asking because if the car is baking in the sun, the seat will be hot.

anyhow, car is still under warranty, bring it in.

My car is garaged also. The seat only gets warm after I've been sitting in it awhile.

Maybe the seats just absorb your body heat then it makes it seem like the seats are being heated.

So far no problems from me or my passengers.

I have noticed the same thing on my '06 - more obvious now that it is getting hot out....does anyone know what fuse to pull to see if it makes a difference?

You can unplug the connector under the seat to see if that changes anything

I think it's just a summer thing. I myself have double-checked a few times to make sure I didn't accidentally turn it on. I think it's just the heat and seat absorbing the body heat.

What connector to unplug to test this? The driver seat feels hot, the switch is off. Also, the passenger seat is not hot...???

You can pull out fuse #15 in the fuse box by your left leg when you're sitting in the car. It is the 4th fuse from the left in the middle row. It is for both seats, but it will tell you if your driver's seat is somehow getting power through the switch to heat it, in which case you have a defective switch.

I notice the same thing right after I drove the car off the lot. The car sat in a covered area and was cool when I first sat in her, then after a while it seemed as if the seat heat up. Its just the seats, I have pulled the heater cable and the same thing happens.
