Headliner falling...
I'm not as mad over this issue as i was the first time it happened.
1) The first week i had my car, it drooped down, so i went to the nearest Acura dealer to fix it. They fixed it.
2) Second week (tomorrow will be the second week anniversary) It fell again.
So i decided i'll just head over to the dealer i bought it from. I call to make an appointment. ANd i say "this will be my second visit regarding the headliner falling. Will you guys be just sticking that lil piece of double sided tape to hold it back up again?" The service advisor replies "yup" so i say, "its kinda pointless to go in with this problem then?" "he said "yup" "so i said ok."
hahahaha
I still made the appointment, cuz i need a car wash lol :smokin:

I feel like Acura will come up with a fix whichj will be a new piece of velcro with better adhesive on it to stick to the metal channel just above it.
In another thread the writer said he used epoxy. All you need to do is separate the top piece of velcro from the bottom one, stick the epoxy on it, stick it to the metal channel, wait until it is firmly set, and then stick the two pieces of velcro together. It doesn't seem as if there is any problem with the bottom piece, so this shoud do it.

Epoxy makes sense. The headliner can still be removed if need be. I think there are also stronger tapes out there that would work without the mess of epoxy. It's just strange that Acura picked double-sided tape - everyone knows that stuff can't handle extremes of temperature or humidity.

So I took a quick look at my car this morning before heading off to catch the bus to work. I noticed that I could push the headliner up, but that it did not appear to be "drooping" - at least not to the point where I would have noticed it if it weren't for all these posts about it.
How exactly do yours look anyway? The pictures that I saw in another thread weren't the best quality - the flash washed out most of the detail and perspective.

Possible do-it-yourself repair

You can also use a piece of tape to support the piece until the epoxy dries, and then remove it. It doesn't seem as if there is any problem with the bottom piece, so this should do it.

I would take a picture but i'm a lazy ass. Basically before the first fix it was droopin about 3 inches. Now its only droppin about an inche. If i push the liner back onto the metal, it sticks, then it makes this poppin noise and disconnects with the metal. hahaha i mite just fix it myself later on. We'll see. Doesnt bug me too much, except the fact that im kinda hesitant to use my moonroof, cuz i keep thinkin the wind will just blow into the lil crevice and blow my whole headliner down.

Ron A - thanks. I realize it's two pieces of velcro but I was under the impression the top piece was attached to the metal bracket using double-sided tape. If in fact it is glued, then they are using really crappy glue!

bustedbyu-the headliner is the stuff over your head that covers the inside of the roof of the car.

Well, I bought my car three weeks ago this coming Sat. The first thing i noticed when i looked in my rearview mirror was the liner was all loose. But not the large headliner. The liner that covers over the highmounted break light. They say they will take care of it. But its really sad they messed this thing up. I love the car. But, I should have waited for the second model year. I also have tire vibration and a problem starting the car the first time. The first time start problem is something i havent seen anyone else complain about. Is it just me?
