Headlight Clearing in Sacramento Area
Headlight Clearing in Sacramento Area
I apologize if i posted this in the wrong section but does anyone know of any shops that clear headlights in the Sacramento area? I've seen the how-to's but just can't muster up the balls to do it on my own. Thanks everyone!
usually shops wont do it because they dont want to be responsible for damaging the headlights and also being blamed for modifying and making the lights "illegal" i did my buddies headlights and it was pretty damn easy...takes time and patience
thanks for the response.. I understand there's a shop down south that clears them so I suppose that may be my only bet. Maybe i'll grow some cajones but until then, i'm gonna keep on searchin.. Thanks again

A little button called search turned this up. SSM05TL was in the Bay Area and said he had his done by Revo Sport. I'd say look in your local listing for Revo or try to contact SSM05TL........good luck

wanna bet he shows up with some Meguiars plastic headlight lens polish and a Powerball on a drill?
The buffing clear/useable of badly clouded headlight covers is what is considered `Clearing` when you speak to the average person
I `cleared` my buddies lights on the truck- buffed the lens on the outside for 10 minutes and made it much better--- another 10 minutes and it was looking new enough for us to be amazed!- 6 buck bottle of plastic headlight polish at parts store and away you go
Do I think this guy will look at you in disbelief---- when you describe how you want the front end off the car, remove the entire housing, take it apart and the INTERIOR parts are what you want cleared!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
then reassembled and sealed properly- baked seal- and installed back on the car- then put the bumper back on...for how much dude?
I think we miscommunicated as to what I do!
I bought New blacked housings for my TL after reading the DIY and seeing it involved the wifes new oven--that wasnt going to happen
This will be interesting to read about tomorrow on follow-up--- since after doing friends truck we talked about seeing the CL ad for a guy in Sac doing it for $75
And how easy it really is to do with a few buffing compounds and a little technique~
You could make big money-at 75 bucks a car- Just look at the yellowed lights everywhere
I have to do the kids car next- yellowed out lens on some american car- they all look the same to me

Should try it yourself, it's really not hard at all. TrevorT and I did it in about 4.5 hours I think and that was because it was our first time on a TL and we were being very careful. Save yourself the $$ for more mods!

Ask JnC he has headlights that he has done see if he has any clear ones. His is the best option I would think because you send the money he sends you headlights then you send yours to him so your car isn't sitting or at a shop.

well to answer questions 1. I am paying $150. 2. I wanted JnC to do my headlights but he seems to be swamped and I have no clue when he can get to them, I've emailed him asking him when but he doesn't respond to the emails even though he has read them so I have decided to take a different route because there is no clear timeline with JnC. Plus I have to pay someone to install them on top of that, I don't like the idea of messing with my car when I need it to drive everday.
and removing the amber corners is critical to the cars running...exactly how?
I dont get the concept-but I'm old
Get an under-frame crossbar for 85 bucks and YOU will feel and appreciate it every time you drive.
I can only stare at the outside of my car for so long-- before I get in and drive!!
