When I slow down to a stop in my TL-S I feel a very aggressive down shifting of the engine. Is that normal? This is my first Acura.

It could probably be less aggressive depending on when you down shift. If your going 40 and shift down into second your going to feel it much more than if you did the same thing at 25.

 

Do you have an automatic or the manual transmission?

If the automatic, this is a characteristic of the TL-S. some say its the grade logic system engine braking, others say its the rev-matching...

Yep, my engine brakes at 20mph hard, but I love it in traffic, makes the douches behind me keep distance... At first when I got the car, I was oh no! WTF! It reminded me of my 2G tranny problems, I was ready to return the car.

 

so many people have fretted over this, and its normal...its grade logic putting the car in the correct gear so that if you were to have to get back on it again it would be ready to rock....

This just made me realize how much i love my car lol... i think its a problem... or maybe a disease.
