Hail Damage

Hail Damage
My 2008 TL Type S (6MT with 93,400 miles) has significant hail damage to the whole car and the damage is just over $10,000. All the glass is ok except for the windshield which is cracked in two places and I will be replacing that soon. Everything else works fine and runs perfect.
The car was in great shape before the storm. I just paid it off with clear title in hand.
What do you guys think my car is worth without repairing the hail damage?

KBB of car - $~10,000?
OR
About $34.50?
You do realize that that was such a broad question with no pictures whatsoever and very light information right? It's hard for us over the interwebz to evaluate the condition of your car let alone the multitude of variables involved in determining the "value" of a car. Are you selling it?. Trading it in? Private party? Dealer?
"What's it worth" is highly subjective unfortunately.

A lot of hail cars can't be repaired paintless. So need to repaint the whole car = $2000-$3000. Add dents repair on top. Plus other damage repair if any (mirrors for instance).
It's easy to grab a car for ~ $5000 less when it got damaged by hail.

Some shops offer $1K paintjobs, stay clear from these if you intended to keep the car obviously...

yea it depends on where ur located too i suppose.. in MTL theres prob a lot of shops i would assume.. here in saint john nb theres literally only 1 shop who can do showroom quality work and the rest are just run of the mill poop shops who don't give a fuck..
gotta pay to play i guess.. In my case i didnt even bother shopping around bcuz I only trust this one shop to do the job right
i do have some rust thats getting taken care of too so that cost a bit to take care of as well

Honestly, to repair a hail damaged car, I'm guessing you're looking to pay 10k to do so. It's ALOT of work. most times hail damaged cars just get written off. Most of the time its not even worth repairing a beat up hood, trunk, doors- they just replace them or reskin them. Not cheap.

3k for a full paint job is asking for a decent paint job, at best. It will not even be close to OEM paint. Tthat means they're just masking the car off instead of properly removing parts and repainting. If you're ok with overspray and just overall mediocre work, go for it.

I wouldn't pay that. But my insurance company would, unless they deem the vehicle a write off. But then they're paying me 15k anyway, lol (which to be honest, if my car had 10k worth of damage, I'd prefer that)

Ok we're OT just a tad.
What would you guys pay for my car?? (assuming you were looking to go this route) I know I don't have pics but I can't get any right now because I now live in Tennessee and the storm was in Missouri last week.
Assuming there is nothing else wrong with it besides the obvious... What would you give me?

Thats a very very broad question bud...
KBB of a clean car with 94K miles is around 14K
The things which would drive the price would be:
1> any mods? Aspec kit? Jpipe/Full Exhaust/Coils/Wheels...am sure you can recoup some money from those mods
2> maintenance, 105K miles service done? whats the condition of the brakes/tires...Not sure on the maintenance for the clutch, but am sure that will affect the price as well.
3> color of the car...am sure you can get slightly more for KBP/RRP (500-1000 more)
Now for the hail damage, how much will it take to fix it? ~5K maybe 6 (guesstimating)
So assuming you are up to date on all maintenance, excluding the 105K service, brakes and tires are decent and do not need replacing anytime soon (no one wants to buy a new car, for them, and spend on service)...
but given all this, I would offer you 5K, maybe 6, tops!
AGAIN this is alllll very very vague, just like the question...but here is my thought process:
6K for the car + 6K to fix hail damage + 2K on maintenance (105K service + other odds and ends) = 14K which is KBB's current value...

since it is damaged; you're likely to get low balled, because it is damaged.
some one will be looking for a car to fix up and yours is the perfect candidate.
with the information that is known (about $10k in damages) i would offer you $3-4k and pray to god my body guy doesnt charge me $10k to fix the damages.

Car is a Type S and is completely stock. Tires are more than 50% on tread and are Michelin Pilot Sports A/S. Timing belt service was completed two months ago. Clutch is good, brakes have about 50% life left. Car is ready to go besides the hail damage.
Again I cannot obtain pictures because it's in a different state right now. I won't be back till May 2nd.

so, you're asking me to do the work?
GTFO! lol
go to Kelley Blue Book - New & Used Car Price Values and enter in the specs and condition of your car and see the value of it before the damage.
then take in account of the damage.
If i was looking to buy a damaged TL, i'd offer you $3k

Kbb came out to $14,500 in good condition. I was just wondering if anyone would want a 6 speed Type S for a bargain (ie for about $5k). Hell, they could use it for a beater car, swap out the hood and deck lid for nice used OEM parts for about $600 and it'll look better.
Color is black btw.
