and i dont understand sellers that sell things without pictures....you're probably going to need pictures of it in order to sell it, as no one in their right mind would even consider it without looking at it.

TL;DR
you're doing this all wrong man

It was more of a feeler than a For Sale ad. I'm gauging hypothetical offers to see how much money to ask for in the near future.

So I guess you went back to read the thread then

List it for 5K. You named your price and the fact that you'd take the money...so clearly, the car is for sale. Stop pu**yfootin'

and PS...that's a great price...I bet someone could get it fixed for pretty cheap if that's really all that's wrong with it.

So no picture because different state...nobody sent you a picture of the damage to your car that is so severe you're willing to to sell it for that price? I call

Price you sell shouldn't be the estimate to bring the car up to retail value.. it's the price someone is willing to pay to drive a hail damaged car / fix-it themselves. If you sold your TL-S for $5-6k, I'd give you cash now. Because I can do the 105k for $250 in parts and my brosef and I can PDR it over the weekend. Flip that bitch and put her on the market for retail. Check similar cars in your area that are on the market and drop the price by 25%.

My step dad's car got hail damage. I think he has an 07 Type S. He bought it new and babied the shit out of the thing. like he would park two floors up on garages so no other cars were around. He would try to park so he could see the car no matter where he was HAHA.

Anywho he said he regretted buying it because it was so freaking expensive and that he never used it. Well hail damage came and let me tell you it was the best thing ever to happen for him. Now he drives the shit out of it and actually USES it. All the time. I mean he will never sell it since he'll lose like 30 grand value, but he actually enjoys driving the car now.

I have always been surprised at how people try to sell without details...

even if you are just testing waters, there has got to be pictures of the car, of the damage, interior, mileage, and other things to help along...

Maj, he mentioned timing belt service is already taken care off...so thats another thing off your list...but I totally agree with you, if you know someone who does good PDR for cheap, buy the car for 5K, fix for 2K, sell for 12K-ish

I apologize for the car being wet. I did this right before going to work but it gives you a good idea of the extent of the hail damage.

I'd fix this with PDR. The paint doesn't look chipped and taking time over a weekend could fix most if not all of it.

the damage is not that bad but it's bad enough to stop potential buyers. it will probably worth $6-8k considering the time and effort to fix the dents and maybe paint/detail the car.

Thats what I'm wondering...he stated in the beginning that it will cost $8-10K to get fixed...provided that the he pays for the deductable. I haven't seen him or anyone mention about Insurance claim. I dont know what to think except to SMDH if he doesnt.

Yes I have full coverage and already have the insurance payment (not totaled). However I want to get into a new car and thought I'd sell this as is for a bargain. If someone has the skill to do PDR they would come out WAY ahead on this TL.

Put an ad for it with a price, worst happens you get no offers if people think it's too expensive. For $5K I'd buy it.

Too bad you just dropped 250 bucks on brakes .

$34.50 is still a damn good deal.
