i got caught on an lie onramp in ny (a blind curve! Of all places.) he was standing right in the freakin middle of the lane!! People almost hit him, lol. This guy was purposely looking for plates/tint/cell phones for sure. He let other cars go and saw mine, smiled with that "gotcha" face and pointed me to the shoulder. I was real cool, not nervous at all and said "hi, how are you officer?". He looks at my nypd sticker, (i have pbas etc. Too.) and he says "how dark is your tint?" i said "30% officer.." he says "no front plate either, huh?" (he had a smirk like, i don't care about your nypd etc. I am givin you a ticket!) "what state is this car registered in?" i said "illinois sir." his face turns into a perplexed one now and he walks to the back to read my plate. He come back around and he's like "ok you can go ahead, take care."
ahahah! Bitches!!

This is your experience...why would you try to lead others into trouble they don't want to be in. If you were giving legal advices, I wouldn't care, but you're trying to tell people to break the law for a 50 dollar ticket. How fucking stupid is that? I hate the system myself, but paying 50 dollars opposed to hundreds or thousands in fines would be the smart thing to do. Breaking laws is for rebels who are spoiled by their parents. Your parents might bail you out of everything; some of us pay for our own shit. Keep that in mind next time you give advice, brother.

Have A Nice Day!!!
When I had my NBP I used to get tickts all the time but I had pics of it with out the tint so the Judge used to dismiss me when he saw the pics and always asked me "Haven't you been here before?" and I would say "no sir you honor, never"

Is there any TRUTH to the myth that cops can't pull you over for just having tint and that it must be a SECOND offense. For example, they pull you over for speeding, then you can also get a ticket for tint. That's what I've heard before. I'm sure cops can always just say they are pulling you over for something else anyway.

I changed the front to pass inspection but I see so many cars down here with 5% all-around. I think it is an unspoken rule to let motorist go.. but use the law to pull over "suspicious" motorist. I think tint regulation is good to keep police officers safe and to ensure motorist safety due to nighttime visibility but not to allow tint at all seems extreme. Well they say Fishbowlin' it is the new thing .. lol..

I agree. There is some real dumb advice being given in here. This is why we're not allowing these types of threads in 3G and to be honest they are being closed down in Car Talk too because of the stupid advice that people give each other. I let this one go on for way too long. Thread closed.

Ok the last thing you want to do is take a pic of your plate on another car to say your tint is off and then go to court and tell the judge you took it off. Reason why if the same cop sees you again with the tint it now becomes PERJURY. Im not johnny law myself but if the cop might want to be a dick and get you for that. BTW i thought u could have dark ass tint in NY?? Most cars in VA that have NY tags have 5-20%
