i've been holdin' myself down since the age of 16 i'm not leading anyone into trouble every man got their own dick to hold... i'm just letting one of the idiots up top that with PBA's a cop will give you chances is not my fault my brothers are in the force , and also letting another guy here know that in NYS they respect the NYC pba's and mini- shield... so that's why i posted the picture up letting the guy know how dark my windows were in my last car when i use to work UPSTATE... BROTHER!!!!

When I had my NBP I used to get tickts all the time but I had pics of it with out the tint so the Judge used to dismiss me when he saw the pics and always asked me "Haven't you been here before?" and I would say "no sir you honor, never"

Is there any TRUTH to the myth that cops can't pull you over for just having tint and that it must be a SECOND offense. For example, they pull you over for speeding, then you can also get a ticket for tint. That's what I've heard before. I'm sure cops can always just say they are pulling you over for something else anyway.

Too bad you guys don't live in the south.. I have 5% on my rears and 25% on my front. State law says 25% for sides and unregulated rear in TX, but the law also states that only the front tint can be tested to pass state inspection at 20%.

I changed the front to pass inspection but I see so many cars down here with 5% all-around. I think it is an unspoken rule to let motorist go.. but use the law to pull over "suspicious" motorist. I think tint regulation is good to keep police officers safe and to ensure motorist safety due to nighttime visibility but not to allow tint at all seems extreme. Well they say Fishbowlin' it is the new thing .. lol..

I agree. There is some real dumb advice being given in here. This is why we're not allowing these types of threads in 3G and to be honest they are being closed down in Car Talk too because of the stupid advice that people give each other. I let this one go on for way too long. Thread closed.

BTW i thought u could have dark ass tint in NY?? Most cars in VA that have NY tags have 5-20%
^^i agree with you on that. i just saw a maxima yesterday with NY tags and he said he had double 5% tint. i was like WTF

NY tint laws:
Windshield: ONLY 6" from the top
front: 70%
rear: 70%
back: as dark as you want it to be

edit: i think SUV rear side windows can be as dark as you want also
