Got my car tinted..QUESTION

I have a NBP 05 TL w/ NAVI and i got it tinted a few weeks ago. 15% back 3 and 35% front. Sometimes during the day, the windows appear to be greenish and not to dark. The tint shop said they used llumar. Why is this?

My car's tint had the same problem before...I think it might be the lighting outside that can make the tints appear greenish under different weather conditions. It didn't bother me much tho.

Yeah me too. I've got 5% all-around and at night from the inside out halogen headlights look greenish.

that's because the factory windows are tinted with a green pigment.......all cars with A/C have slightly tinted windows to offer some heat rejection.

This sounds like the best explanation.

Did you use charcoal or titanium tint?

+1 Llumar is top quality stuff.

Not all LLumar is good just like not all 3M tints are good either. Same goes for Dupont paint. Each manufacturer makes different lines in their products so that they can sell each line at different price points. I have LLUMAR platinum plus which is their best line and I do not have anything close to what you are talking about. I have 15% all around and my windshiled at 40%. So I constantly look through my tint while driving sunshine or rain and no green crap.

My only explanation is your installer used one of the other lines of LLumar. I can pretty much tell you if you honestly tell me how much you paid for your job.

Window Streaking?

So I have a question about the tints for our cars.

I got my car tinted a couple weeks ago, 35 in the front and 23 in the back. Now my front driver side and passenger side windows streaks slightly. I did get all four windows lined with moleskin, the owner of the tint shop told me that TL windows just streak because of how close the door trim is pushed against the window. Is this true? Did he just do a crappy job on my tint? This shop is really popular for my area, called California Tint on Rosemead, great reviews on Yelp and many friends recommended this shop. I just wish I could get the streaking to go away. It is very light, but still noticeable.

not ignorance. just straight-forward answer. Elegant Type S goes into more detail of what im talking about. most cheap tint films are green in exposure to sunlight and will turn purple over time.

How do I check if the moleskin was installed correctly? I really don't want to take apart the door trim.

lol you do know that windshields are not tinted other than the sun stripe at the top, right? (if the car is so equipped). side and rear windows do have green pigmentation and it can show up when looking through tint from the inside or reflected light from the outside at certain angles. I would not expect you to see green through the tint on your windshield, however I would not be surprised if you had it on the side/rear windows
