Angry Got keyed

Didn't I just read a thread in the past few weeks from someone else?

Car is new (to me) for 4 weeks. Washed it Sunday, drove to work Monday and Tuesday (on a large company campus with no public access) and stopped at a Pep Boys and Autozone on the way home tonight (Tuesday). I was doing some quick detailing after getting home and found my both passenger doors and rear quarter panel were keyed. Mother*****!!! I was in both stores less than 5 or 10 minutes each, and I parked away from other cars. And some coward has to go out of their way to scratch up my car? WTF.

I can tell from the height of the key marks the lowlife is shorter than me, maybe 5'6" or 5'7".

Now I'm doubly glad I didn't buy a new TL (which I had considered). I'd be even more insane with rage that I now.

Did you double park or park obnoxiously? Sadly some people key for that.

I'm sorry dude. I can't even imagine how that feels but I can't stand hearing about this kinda crap. I've always wondered what I'd do if I ever caught someone in the act of doing that.. I'm not just talking to my car but any ones car.

That's a guaranteed ass beating for the coward right there

Damn everybody's car is getting keyed lately, and the thought of this just makes me cringe. The question I have for everybody is, what would you do if you caught someone in the act?

Dang...I feel your pain. The same exact thing happened to me last week. I'm not gonna shell out the $500 deductible to get it fixed... =/ especially for something that wasn't caused by me and there's the possibility that it might get keyed again.

I used some ScratchX and rubbed vigorously on the keyed area and it made it less noticeable on the areas where it didn't go down to the metal.

Sorry

Thanks for letting me vent and the condolences. I'm pretty religious about parking in end spots & that's what I did last night.

I'm going to let insurance handle it. I have zero deductible on Comprehensive (which is for non-crash damage, like vandalism). I think I'm most mad because it wasn't an accident on the road, it was something stupid and deliberate. I guess I'm going to stick to buying my car care products online again...
