Got a handling ?

Alright say that one takes a 90 degree turn "quickly" should he just whip the steering wheel all the way in the direction he wants to turn or what should he do.(This guy sucks cuz he slides across 2 lanes when he does this at 45mph)

Power sliding is not the best way to take a turn. May be the most fun but not the best way to get higher exit speed.

how should "he" go about the turn. (the reason this ? came up is because my friends say that the TL is to big and has front wheel drive thus it cant preform as well as their A4, Jetta and G20. And Im gonna prove them wrong at an upcoming autocross.)

Approach the turn from the outside, apex, allowing the car to drift to the outside as the car exits the turn. I like accelerating through a turn, steering with the gas pedal. I've only test driven the TL so it's hard to tell how the car reacts under extreme racing conditions.

ummm...yea...basically they're right. rear wheel drive can take a curve better than a front wheel drive car. especially if you're on the stock tires. as far as the autocross...be safe...don't really see the TL as that kind of a car

There's a post on how a TL did in an autocross. Didn't perform badly if I recall.

I wasn't trying to be snotty. I just didn't remember the exact results. But obviously the TL is an autocross-capable car. And BTW, all the other cars did well strictly because they were better cars and not because of the drivers?

As far as turning advice, don't enter a turn too hot, especially in a FWD car -- that's when you tend to understeer. It's better to hold a good line through turn than trying to driving really fast through one and fighting the car the whole time.

Simple... As in all front wheel drive cars you have to go into the curve easier (light cruise but keep revs up in the 4500's) and push the accelerator down as you pass the apex (the vtec kicks in and POWERS you out of the turn). You cannot "dive" into the corner like you could with a rear wheel drive, but a good driver can make them look foolish (especially if they are the kind that ignorantly kick their tail out during turns thereby loosing momentum). Good luck and let us know how you do. PS - If you wreck, I didn't recommend any of this...

Drifting is the way to do it. whipping your rear end does not cut it.
