got ATE UP yesterday
So I was coming back from the beach yesterday with 3 of my friends in the car. I was approaching a light and I notice a jaguar in the lane on the side of me. I'm not to familiar with jag's and didnt know the specs on this one, but I remember looking at the brake calipers and noticing they were aftermarket.. I was joking around with my friend in the passenger seat and when I looked back up the light was green.. I look over and the jag is just waiting for me.. He goes I mash it immediately after and he pulled a 1-2 cars by the time I got to third. Still not sure of the model but it said 4.2 in the back of it
... He was alone in his car I had 3 ppl but I doubt it would've made a difference. 04 6MT Aspec - stock

With the jags a few models share the 4.2L. The S-Type, XJ, XK and now XF. Nice run. If you punched it at the same time it would have been closer especially if you only had yourself in the car to reduce the weight. I know that the XK is a low 14 second car with that engine. The S-Type runs high 14's with that engine.

Was it something like this:

Seems like it was just the 4.2L V8 NA with 300hp. They are about as fast as a 2g TL-S/3g TL AT. I think you lost because your car was carrying an extra 300-400lb and he gunned it before you did. If it were the supercharged XF, it would have demolished you since that car can do 13.5@107mph (even faster than 335i).

I think the Jag weighs about 4200 lbs. The Jag > TL + 3 passengers. So, considering the extra weight and 1-2 car length lead after only 2nd gear, the Jag is packing serious torque. The base TL had no chance. Type-S would have been a fair match.
To OP, I did not mean to sound critical. I have seen some unexpected
as well and tend to be on the cautious side
. Good try nonetheless.

Yah it was all in good fun. Im not sure if either of the vehicles were the one I raced, it looked like an older model .. maybe a 2000 - 2002 somewhere in that generation. I just remember the big brakes and the 4.2l in the back hah
