Hey everyone, I've been reading this forum for the last few months so decided to sign up since I could potentially be a future TL owner..
With that said I was hoping to get some advice from you Guru's.

I have a link for a 2004 WDP Type-S 6MT w/ Nav. 55k Miles. Tan interior. Pretty decent condition and fully functional. Only downside...it has been in a previous collision. The seller said it was hit in the front...replaced front end and headlight. Cosmetically it looks perfect but you never know..had mechanic check it out and said it was good.

Asking price was 13'500, I said more like 12 flat. So my question is...does anyone consider this a good buy? Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

i dont think it has a 04 type-s, i may be wrong tho

 

There is no such thing as a 2004 Type S. The type S was only offered from 02-03 and 07-08.

 

Impossible. The Type-S was not even made commercially available until 2007.

 

Welcome, OP. You're actually looking at a base TL. You should be able to negotiate a little bit with the price.

 

What kind of title (e.g clear, salvage, rebuilt) does it have?

 

At $13.5k, my bet is salvage.

 

^if its a 04 no way its salvaged, i seen 04 go for like 8 to 10 k

 

Oh damn i didn't know this....guess that's why I'm here. Seller was prob trying to scam me.. There was a Type-S badge on the trunk lid so i figured it was, plus he kept saying it was a type-s. But thanks for the heads up.
As for the title, I'm gonna pull up a car fax report and verify that.

 

If he kept insisting it's a type-s, I'd worry about other things he might be lying about. So be extra careful.

 

Have HIM pull the CARFAX. He's already shown himself to be full of shit, I would walk from the deal knowing that he's already attempting to scam.
