Glovebox Warranty

Does anyone know how the warranty for a glovebox works? I just got an 06 TL and did some custom work to the glovebox and had to drill a pretty decent sized hole in it. Now I want to replace the glovebox with a clean fresh glovebox but a replacement will cost me around $100. I heard that there might be a way for me to get a new glovebox free of charge with my warranty but I'm not sure how that would be possible since I did custom work to the glovebox. Any input on this?

Also, if there's a place or dealership that anyone would recommend that might be chill or nice enough to replace my glovebox through warranty and free of charge, that'd be awesome!

umm, you arent going to get anything replaced under warranty. maybe, just maybe if you can somehow show that the glove box is defective, but its going to be hell since you drilled a hole in it. looks like you are gonna have to deal with the 100 dollar cost.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects. Did you drill the hole because of a manufacturing defect? If the answer is no, then the answer to your question is no.

Think of it this way—the point of a warranty is to fix things that are Acura's fault that are beyond your control. Drilling a hole in the glove box is not something that is beyond your control. I suppose it would be like cutting the end off of a condom before using it and then suing the manufacturer for an alleged defect when your girlfriend finds that she's pregnant.

I think you should sue Acura since there were no warning labels on the glovebox about drilling holes in it.

This reminds me of the thread, which I am too lazy to look for but someone will know where it is, about the kid who did wheelies in the high school parking lot, hit a car, and wanted to sue Acura because the VSA didn't work like it was supposed to.
