Getting TL with nav Black on Black

How much do you think I should pay for it? THe dealers are asking me around 37k to 39k ... I seriously loved how it drive but .... in a few car that i test drove, there is a vibration on the steering wheel near 70-80 mph .... I am basically new to Honda ... I own a lot of toyota, 3 BMW's and 1 Audis .... But never dealt with Honda ... Can you guys please tell me about your experience ... Can you guys please recommend me a good salesman who can fight for me?
Thanks

what other options are you getting? 37-39 is way too high if its just for the TL with Nav. the vibration on the steering wheel could be due to the crappy el42 tires that comes iwth teh car.

So you can see what you are paying, get a detail of:

1) What is the cost of the car
2) What it the tax on the car
3) What other fees (DMV,etc) are added

You need to know what these costs are in order to negotiate.

What is $37k - $39k, that is a big range

Did you ask the salesman why their is a vibration, was he sitting next to you at 70-80mph ?

We have Tlers from across the country so quoting tax & license fee is comparing apples to oranges. You need to just get down to the basics and quote the car price. For example, the TL w/ nav has been quoted in these forums from low 34s to high 34s where as the TL wo nav is around 32 range. I've seen prices on AT TL w/navi from 34.1 to 34.9 on this forum. Hope this helps.

I believe in CA, about 38k OTD (after tax license etc) = about 34.5k before the taxes and stuff are added to the price.

for 35K out the door you will have to swing some kind of sweet deal to get a navi version. you are talking about getting the car for mid 32's. in cali i have not seen the best prices posted. here on the east coast the lowest i've seen was mid 32's which is what you would be shooting for. i think high 33's would be a reasonable price to get out there. i could be wrong, anyone else get a really good price out west?

Hey guys! Here is some insight from a Bay Area buyer - myself!

First off, some of the people above stated getting this for around 34K. It would be a BARGAIN for someone in the BAY AREA to get the NAV car for this much!! All the east cost people, especially around the JERSEY area are getting AWESOME deals. But, with regard to the Bay Area, I can't say the same. In the past 3 weeks, I have gotten in contact with about 12+ dealerships in the area and the Navs are selling like hot cakes right now! 90% of the dealers will sell you the car at MSRP (Nav cars) because they are ALL pre-sold before they can even get on the lot. There are 2 dealers who may sell you cars at $500 off, BUT and this is a BIG BUT - I have heard stories from other dealerships that are saying these 2 dealers agree to sell you at a discount, but when your car arrives 10 weeks later, they sell it to you at MSRP, because they have other buyers who are willing purchase at full price. So basically YOU lose! I myself am in progress, and am still looking around! For myself, the wait for a car ranges anywhere from 2 weeks to 12+ weeks. I am not sure what to do now because seems the Navs are going for MSRP. But, to get $500-$700 off would be a great deal in the bay area. My brother ran into a fellow who recently purchased a White TL w/ NAV and A-spec. He asked the driver how much he got it for - he said FULL PRICE, and this car was purchased in Los Gatos! The driver of the TL said "my brother works at Los Gatos dealership and he couldn't even get me $100 bucks off!!" SCARY, isn't it?! If anyone has suggestions regarding purchasing in the Bay Area, I would appreciate it!

Someone on another thread mentioned purchasing car out of state. That even with delivery charges, car would be cheaper than buying in Calif. Check someplace out mid-west or east. Hell, fly there, pick up car, and have fun driving home!

I know some people on this board have purchased from NJ and they live in other states. A lot have been dealing with Turnersville Acura. Be worth calling some dealers here in NJ and probably other states.

Haha maybe some of us Cali people can get together and do a groupbuy from NJ and save on shipping... doubt it could ever happen but that would be real cool. Oh wells, I'll just keep on looking. I was at a dealership yesterday and they had two Navi on the lot but werent willing to deal on them. Probably because its the beg of the month.

TL 2004: Can you let me know what info you get from turnerville.

Tunersville is definitely the place to buy. I've called at least 10 dealerships from MD all the way up to NJ and Turnersville has been the most up front with me. You can get a non navi for around 200 below invoice and a Navi at around 32800. This is after delivery minus tax, titles, etc.

Are you still looking to buy or have you already bought? What color/specs? Do you think your sales man would be willing to sell a car to me, although I am in CA? If you could find out or give me any information I would greatly appreciate it! If I could get a TL for that price, it would be AWESOME! Cheers!

Thanks!

Definitely, you are in Los Angeles? Maybe if we could guarentee him 2 sales he would be willing to do so? What you think? When are you thinking of buying you car? I would soo be willing to get this done if the guy is willing to work with me! If we could get the price of 32800 and consider worse case delivery fee of 800, that would still be $1600 off MSRP! Hopefully somethings good comes about!

wow - you can find better

I just ordered a black/black 6mt with navi, wheel locks, deck lid spoiler, and splash guards and got them down to $34,690 and they waived that $100 fee (title maybe? can't remember). The way I did it was to go to a dealership, whose salesmen wouldn't budge at all. In fact, and i love this, he said, "So you want me to give you a discount?" - using the term "discount" was meant to make me question what I did to deserve any price break. Didn't work. I then went home, got on the internet, and requested price quotes from the sites - some even let me put in the price I wanted to pay. I went back to the dealer and gave him another shot, since he was local, and he denied me again and said no one is discounting these things. So I caught him in a lie and that's why he met my price and then waived the $100. They do make you work for it, but that's fine - it's nothing personal, just business.

Just my two cents here as well - I have been to 3 dealers in the Bay Area - no budging on a Nav - no matter which color. Best price, CarsDirect - $100 over MSRP.

I would be willing to discuss a group buy from NJ. If we guarantee him 3 cars, maybe they would deal even more. I am currently looking to purchase. Let us know if you here any news from NJ Turnersville.

Which 3 dealerships did you go to? What color are you trying to get?

I'm ready to buy as soon as someone can locate a anthracite/ebony w/navi at the right price. I'm having trouble getting them down to $34k so $32.8 plus shipping does not sound bad at all. Not sure how this will work though since im in Los Angeles. Also anyone know how the tax, title, and reg works with out of state purchases.

I believe you would buy the car for 32.8, you'd pay for the title and license and then pay the TAX in California when you register it for the DMV. Not exactly sure, but I believe it's something like that.

My prefered color is NHB w/Ebony NAV. But when I went to the dealers (Serramonte, Harvey, Marin), I was willing to discuss anything on the lot with Nav (btw - don't really need the NAV, but like the way the dash looks with it).
