Getting concerned

I've had my car for about a week now, and am starting to get concerned about all the rattles I'm hearing from all over the front cockpit. All noticeable during normal driving.

1) Front passenger door map pocket
2) Glove box
3) Headliner near sunroof
4) Center console
5) Steering wheel
6) Occasional "thump" from rear of car when coming out of a stop

I know most of these have been documented here, but has anyone else experienced this number of rattles, especially after just a single week? I'm really hoping the dealer comes through on resolving these, it's almost embarassing to have people ride in my brand new Acura that rattles worse than a 10 year old Chevy.

Yes, been there, done that, but I have an early build.

andrex, search the site and you will find info on them, also look at the sticky thread at the top, it talks about early build issues.

I'm taking my car into two different dealers for assessment on 1 and 5 -- I'll let you know what they find. I think the steering wheel one sounds kind of interesting (it's like a loose piece of plastic or something that jumps around when I go over bumps).

Let us know what your dealer finds on those!

That should be an easy fix, it's the springy contraption that (I think) keeps the moonroof sunshade seated when closed. When the sunshade is open & the moonroof closed, it vibrates against the moonroof. I'll get them to fix that when I go in for my first service; otherwise, it's not a big deal to me because I rarely have my sunshade open.

My car has little buzzes and very soft rattles coming from different places in the cockpit as well. I'll address it when it goes in for its first service. The car is so quiet that it makes it easy for me to hear them, which wasn't the case with my old Mustang

My dealer cannot figure out any of them... In case, the stupid dealers are unable to do for you...

2. Glove box: you can search "glove", and find the answer. Lots of stupid dealers cannot fix it. Try DIY.

3. deflector: try "deflector" or "moon". Stupid dealers do not know how to fix it. Try DIY.

6. ABS...

Anyone figured out the "thump" noise? someone mentioned that it was ABS related.

A-Ha... thump noise... not from the rear, it's from the front...

It could be the ABS cycling or other devices self-diagnosis. After starting the engine, mine is always taking place when I reach 10 MPH in the first time.

Normal... in all Honda/Acura cars...

Yeah, but my 2nd gen TL had the rattle thing fixed early on. No reason to get used to it.
