Anyone wish they would have purchased the iPhone 6 instead of the 6+?
It's time to upgrade my company phone, and I have the option to get either the 6S or 6S+. Coming from a 5S, I get a size upgrade either way, but I'm a bit concerned the + is a little too big. When I held one in the store in one hand, I couldn't reach my thumb across the screen while grasping the edge with my finger tips. I am admitted clumsy with my phone, so that lack of grasp concerns me. On the other hand, I would enjoy the benefits of a larger screen. I have no idea how it would do fitting in my pocket or the other considerations to take carrying an expensive device around all the time, so I figured I would seek real world feedback.
Has anyone here purchased a 6+ and felt they would rather have the smaller 6?

I came from a 5 and I'm happy with my 6+. I use it for talk, text, surfing the web etc. Don't really play games.
I was nervous about the size when I first got it and ordered one site unseen. With ATT we got a 2 week return or exchange, don't remember exactly what it was now, so I wasn't too concerned. I figured if it was too big to get used to I could always just go to the smaller size but if I had ordered the smaller 6 then I'd have it in the back of my head about whether I should've gotten the 6+.
You'll get used to the size difference of the + fairly quickly, or at least I did. It took a day or two and all the movements felt completely natural. My mom has a 5s and I don't see how I ever used a phone that small. I have no problems fitting my 6+ in my front pocket but do take it out when I sit down. Ever since I saw all that crap about the phone bending I sure as hell wasn't taking any chances. lol.
See if your carrier has an exchange policy. If they do, just order the 6+ and try it out for a few days because playing around with it in store for a few minutes won't really be able to tell you if the phone is too big. If you don't like it exchange it for the smaller 6.

^We use AT&T. I'm sure they would let me do an exchange. Then again, given how many people will be upgrading, they would probably just hold it until the next request.
Most of the time I'm on my phone I'm surfing AZine. Other notable uses are texting and emails. My kids use it often to play games. I have no doubts I will love the big screen for those purposes. My one and only concern is it being too large to handle easily and dropping it.
A few guys I work with have one, so I can probably spend a little more time holding one.

We have an Iphone thread. In any case, I had both and went to the Plus. No regrets.

Try out the phone at the Apple store. Text on it and see how you feel. Consider that a case will make it easier to avoid touching the edges of the screen.
The whole one handed usage thing is overrated. I started swipe texting years ago and I don't miss smaller phones or tap texting at all.
Went from a 3.5" screened 3GS to a 4.7" screen way back then and everyone said "OMG THAT'S HUGEMONGOUS, I would never get a phone that big". Same people said the same thing when I went from the 4.7" to a 5.7" screen.
I'd say 4 out of 5 people that said the above now have a 5" or larger phone. Some have phablets or want one. And nobody has a phone smaller than 4.7" unless they're over 55 and/or don't use their phone for anything other than calling and texting. My cousin went from a 4" 5S to a 6+ and said she wouldn't go back.

Don't have an iphone anymore, but personally anytime I see someone with the plus, I think it's ridiculous. It's too damn big, and most people don't need it. If it were me, I'd get the one that fit in my pocket

Every time I touch a 6 I am thankful for my +.

6S+ for those who do not carry the phone in the pocket. Trying to fit a 6S+ into your pants pockets will be the ultimate in torture that will get really old fast.
6S for those who do pocket the phone (like myself, in my front pocket).
Of course, I'm not talking about parachute pants that hang halfway down the butt, those pants that you can actually go to a respectable job in.

I don't have a 6+, but my phone has nearly the same dimensions (Note 4). On one pair of jeans, the phone peeks out of the top of my pocket, ever so slightly. The only real issue I have is with gym shorts, actually. They don't sit deep enough, and while the phone hasn't fallen out yet, the increased mass swinging around makes me feel unsure.

Visual Phone Size Comparison

I have no issue with my 6+ fitting in my front pocket of pretty much any of the pants/shorts I wear. Even the skinny Levi's 511's I've been wearing.

I like to watch movies/shows/play games on my phone and that is why I chose to get the 6+. After having it for a while, I will say that it is an excellent phone, the camera is VERY GOOD if you intend on taking pictures and of course the display is very good as well for the watching of shows/movies or if you plan on playing games.
I will say that when I go to the gym, it's a little difficult to handle because it is pretty large for your pockets and I personally didn't want to buy a case to put on the phone to make it any bigger.
If I had to make the purchase again, I probably would choose the 6 as my wife has that version and even though it isn't much smaller, it is easier to handle with 1 hand if you're the kind of person that texts with 1 hand or are trying to do 2 things at once.

I use the galaxy note4 and love the size. Ive added a case which makes it slightly larger as well.
It seems the public just wants whats new. Personally to me the size of the + or the size of my note is perfect. It's large but I can easily put it in any of my pockets.

It will be better even on the 6s Plus.

How about having the 6+ in your front pocket, then sitting down? Doesn't the top edge dig into your hip, unless you have some really, really deep pockets?

Thanks for the responses. Lucky for me, I have good buddies at work with the 6+ that let me play around with it. I went ahead and put in the request for a 6S+. I see it the same way I did my Mac upgrade. I had an Air which I loved the size of, but the maxed out Pro was just too much computing power to turn down. The same goes for the Plus. The added features and screen size will outweigh the potentially obnoxious size.
Now I just need my manager to approve the purchase.

I don't really have that problem. Even digging the phone out of my front pocket while sitting isn't too difficult.
