Gasoline insert opening

It occured to me 2 years ago, but I am finally asking the question.
My gasoline insert opening is an open hole. Normally I see cars with a metal flap that closes the opening until I insert the gasoline penile at the gas station. Hondas have them, but my TL does not. Is this normal?

Just checked mine and I don't have one either. They seem kind of pointless to me. What's going to happen, I drop some change in there and the flap keeps it from going into my tank? They seem like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

No flap. It's to cut costs.

I guess it's normal these days. My S2000 didn't have one either.

At least with the flap one can't add diesel fuel in error as the nozzle is larger. It's been done, as years ago I cleaned out 3 cars where diesel has been added by mistake.

In all the Honda's I've owned (5) only the Accord has the flap.

HA! I just had this happen to me last week! Luckily, it went away after a day or two.
