Wow! I don't think too many people keep records like that. Is the amount in CDN or US$?

I did the gas receipt things for two yrs then thought what's the point lol because it's a cost where I can't really avoid in the long run. I think the more important thing to watch is the MPG's as the years tick by.

What was your total number of gallons (or liters)? Then you can figure out average MPG (or KPL) for the entire year. Then you'll know if your doing good or not...

^ you can also use www.fueleconomy.gov for tracking this stuff for free and it's hooked in with the EPA estimates so you can compare actual mpg with estimated mpg and compare various makes of vehicles. I think the government's site is both easier to use than fuelly and certainly less commercialized. Give it a look.

Another benefit with using a website for storing your data is that it's easy to do calcuations afterward. My data is as follows from 8/6/06:

25,243 miles with 1245.99 gallons for 20.25 MPG

My average speed is 30 MPH since I live in an urban environment.

Here's a link to the other 2006 TL driver's records- I appear to be the only CA driver at the moment as well as the only one keeping the records current now.
