your new garage door opener is a rolling code type, you need to check your owners manual for additional instructions on how to do a rolling code opener....

You might have to push a "learn" button on the door opener itself.

I have a rolling code. On mine I had to push the learn button on the opener first. Then push the button the Homelink in the car. But be quick, there is a time limit from the opener. Or you can use two people. One to push the learn button on the opener and the other in the car pushing the Homelink button.

Note that the "learn" button is almost always on the box that hangs down from the roof of your garage, not on the remote or the wall unit with the button in your garage. (My father has a TSX and continued using his remote for about a year, until I discovered what he was doing, because he said that his remote didn't have a "learn" button.)

That really depends on where the opener is, where your car is, and whether there are any obstacles to negotiate (e.g., do you have bushes along the side of your driveway that might slow you down).

i like this thread, it makes me

i too have a rolling code garage opener. i just opened our garage, parked the car under it. i pressed the transmit button on the opener itself, then pressed and held the button on the car and it double blinked and took the code. took me all of 2 minutes to program.

My learn button was also on the opener.....not the remote. Had to remove the front cover to get to it.

I went up to the unit itself.. had my cousin push/hold the transmitter button while I was in the TL.
Can't seem to get it working...
I push/held button 1.. and it blinked rapidly.
I push/held button 2.. and it blinked slowly.
I push/held button 3.. and it blinked slowly.
In each case, it did not cause the transmitters LED to blink at all.
I haven't a clue how to work this homelink stuff....

Try this manual:

https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/...404O00136B.pdf

Start reading on page 145. You may want to erase the HomeLink first. Hope this helps.

you have to hold 1 and 3 down until it blinks rapidly which resets your homelink for programming.
then hold 1 and your door opener button at the same time until it blinks rapid. that should do it but not for mine- i hope to figure it out today. thanks for all the above posts!!

Honestly, some of you people are so stupidly eager just to criticize blindly. I can get from my opener to the driver's seat in 30 seconds, but depending on a person's garage/driveway arrangement, some people might not be able to. I have a one-car garage, so to program the HomeLink I had to park in the driveway. My driveway has bushes down the side. I didn't have any problem getting past them when I programmed the button, although it was a bit of a tight squeeze, but when Ms1995hoo parks her car out there (an RSX, so two doors) she always has trouble maneuvering around the bushes.

For my rolling code garage, I had to sync the garage remote to homelink and then do the procedure for rolling code... so had to do all the programming steps in the manual from the beginning
