GAP insurance...

I don't really want to throw this at teh end of the other thread. Since my TL was totaled, the insurance company (AAA) has paid out more than what was left on the loan. Since I had GAP insurance, can I still cancel it even though the car was totaled? I know with my previous two cars I cancelled and got a pro-rated refund - but then again, those vehicles were not totaled.

So, the gap insurance did NOT have to pay out.... anybody? Thanks

I doubt it. It's insurance, that's the point. You don't use it, tough luck. At least with me, the GAP insurance was part of the payment and I never knew any different.

Yes, but you can cancel the GAP insurance if you sell the car or trade it in...which is why I asked. It is a pro-rated refund.
