After a little research,

2008 Pontiac G8 (V6) 0-60 mph 6.9 Quarter mile15.4

The TL is generally a high 14 / low 15 quarter mile car. I think the G8 is a heavier car in general ..

I would try from a dig and a 50mph roll, vids please!

i've give the edge to the TL, but at higher speeds...no clue
...on the contrary, ran into a GT (is that what the V8's called?) a while back. killed our entire caravan group, beginning with me.
you should've heard those intakes sucking in air. holy heck!

It will be a good drivers race from a dig but the edge goes to the TL IMO. The Curb weight of the G8 V6 is 3885-3996lbs. The Malibu, Aura and CTS with the 3.6L non-DI weigh considerably less and run high 14's no problem. The G8 V6 will do low 15's at best. Great low end torque and RWD help but in the top end the TL should pull away. Let us know the results!

If you're 6MT, you'll beat him badly, if you're 5AT you'll still win.

are you sure it wasnt the gxp 415hp those things are beastly.

the gt (360hp) would have been a closer race with your g37

The G37S has some good topend prowess and would make for a close contest vs the GT (at least on paper). The GXP would be a walker though.
