Fog Light HID kit installation help
Fog Light HID kit installation help
I have finally recieved my H8 bulbs for my 08 Type S and tried to install them. They fit fine but when i wired them up and tested they are strobing instead of coming on steady. I decided to hook the ballasts up directly to the cars battery and the lights work fine. Does anyone now why they would work when using the fog light harness?
Get relay's asap. Mine worked without a relay for a while, but just recently blew a ballast
.......( about 3-4 months installed)edit: i'm installing relay's as soon as I fix my cyclop's........
I thought they were the same but I got both and the h8's are a PERFECT fit, the h11's fit but I had to file the sides down alittle to get them in.

Also, just a thought. There is no DIY in the 3GTL Garage about changing fogs on an 07-08. I would imagine that they are much harder to change on the 07-08, sense they are down lower. My guess is that you go through the fender liner. Just a thought.
I believe it plugs into the stock harness. what kit do you have? depends on the ends. if you can post a pic of the ends......
edit: I had to cut the ends off my texon bulb's and put the ends from my 10k's to make the connection.(texon bulb and efx ballast are different connectors)

I have experienced one of my old aftermarket ballasts strobing like crazy like you described. I tried rewiring everything different ways but they kept doing that. I didn't want to blow the bulbs so I stopped trying. I just bought new ballasts and now they work fine. I am assuming those old ones are just fried.....sad because they were high quality ones made by Hella. Maybe I should try using a different relay and test again.
the reason the lights strobe is because the system is being monitored by the multiplex computer system we have in the car.... it doesnt like voltage spikes nore does it like to be touched. sooooo what you have to do it either adapt capacitors to the end of the lines....which i dont recommend unless you know what farads to use and how to work with electronics or you can adapt the use of a relay which on our acuras actually help for HID installs. one relay from one side is more than enough and can handle the load.....the right bulb size is H8 the H11's are for the accord fog adaptation on the 04-06.
