Finally lowered! Alignment ok?

08 Type S - Flex Z's - SPC rear upper arms. Nothing done to the front. Toe is most crucial correct? How do I look? 1 1/2 drop roughly...

seeing that TOE is set as close to zero as possible, you're golden!!
because out of spec toe will eat tires

everything looks almost identical to mine KBP sit on BC Racing with the exception of toes. Mine Toe are all zero out, you will have more straight line stability but cornering wont be feels good. Drive the car for about 1000 miles and go back for the 2nd alignment because the spring and shock will settle thusfore changing your geometry again.

Do you have upgrade rear sway bar? If not, treat yourself with a progress 24mm sway bar its a huge upgrade. I went through this back in Jan and handling compare to my MRP is day and night between cornering despite both car has the same tires (KBP Michelin Pilot Sport 4s in all corner and MRP has Michelin Pilot Super Sport).

May go another 1/4 to 1/2 lower, we'll see. It's not quite as flush as yours friend! Will the Z's "settle" at all. I have a whole 4 miles on them as it was finished today...

Rear

front

I’m not perfectly even front to rear. No coil overs here. Just koni’s and H&R sport springs. Also don’t know if garage floor is perfectly level! 😂

I’ve heard yes and no on settling. I waited about a week before my first alignment after lowering. But I didn’t really drive it too much, as I had another vehicle also.

The sway bar was my first upgrade, well worth the price! I noticed a difference as soon as install was complete.

I like the height you have it at. I’d have to measure but it looks very similar to mine. If you do want it lower, do so before next alignment, unless you bought unlimited Allignments.

I’m on 18” a-specs tho, so it may look a lil different. Same overall diameter as you with 17’s.

Yea I need to drive it more (a whole 800 miles since purchase in October 2020) and see what's up. And maybe it'll settle a bit just sitting, who knows. I'm pretty happy. And quite frankly it rides great, can't even tell really! Was thinking about my next "move" and that bar seems nice!

Thanks! Everyone on my initial thread about this was a HUGE help, and tolerant of my silly questions. Certainly appreciate the input and pictures for reference. I'm not to handy with a wrench (yet I work for John Deere Reman and disassemble all kinds of engines for work...yea I know ) and luckily have a shop 5 miles from home that I trust immensely. They seem to like me there, I spend $ lol. But I always take it in, drop it off and say "no rush, get to it when you can" they know it's my 2nd car as they also service my 07 5AT.. Plus it's like a $13.77 Uber to go and get it!

But regardless I will always come here first for advice/questions!

Personally I’d leave as is. It does look great, and functional.

That rear sway bar will make a difference for sure. Then you’ll have to play with your rebound settings on the shocks to figure out your desired ride comfort. All in due time….😊

Absolutely, and a easier on the wallet mod after the coilovers...win win!

Truth be told I tend to be the same as you buddy! But over the years I've eased up. As long as it's in "spec" I'm ok. Now if the rear toe was 0.15 (just in) it wouldn't be ok for me. But I totally feel ya.

Gonna get the sway bar, thanks for the lead boys, also thinking H&R DRM 15mm spacers, kinda want 20mm but they seem hard to find ? I don't wanna do a full stud swap on all 4 corners and the DRM seems to be the easiest/best. I'm actually hyped at the rear camber of -1.2, SPC's!

Personally I have a hate relationship with spacer, I like to corner seriously and spacer just give me that disconnected feeling when the car being push.

spacers will also ruin wheel bearings over time... Best bet is to either do a whole new hub/bearing with new extended lugs and a spacer for rears and do extended studs and spacers on front. Beware that the more you space the wheels out, the more dirt/grit will get kicked up the rear and front tires and trash the paint. I went though this on my 760 and even got mud guards painted and installed (OEM) and it didn't help much. Took the spacers off and was way happier.

^ Very true! Listen to the experts. Yes I’d like my wheels sitting more flush, but I’ve weighed the consequence and errored on the side of no spacers, due to what’s said above.

^IDK Jeff, I just have heard all of of what csmeance has said, and I think that it pays to listen to those who know…If I really wanted a super flush look, I’d just buy different wheels with a different offset. I know it’s a higher expense, but I’d hate to have more problems by adding spacers for just looks….but that’s me.

Glad you’re getting the rear sway bar. You’ll be like “why didn’t I do this before, and to the auto Type-s?”. Lol

You don't need to wait between install and alignment, if you did everything properly. Properly meaning re-clocking all the pivoting bushings.

Springs should never settle until they're dead.

As far as spacers go...they basically do the same thing as lower offset wheels. They will affect scrub radius and you'll see more wear on the inside edges. They will also make steering lighter and bumps feel crashier.

Again...same effect as just lowering wheel offset.

15mm per side is not "a little bit".
its "a bunch".

The wheel offset is chosen by whomever engineered this car - and the scrub radius tuning is a major contributor.
