How did you put the CF where the borders of the cup holders were? Did you have to place a large piece over the entire portion including the slide out cover, or just smaller pieces on the sides?
How big of a piece should I order if I just want to do that area, and the shifter area?

Thanks man. Still looks great after almost a year...I think. I clean them up with armor-all wipes every now and then. Only place I use armor-all in my car as it adds a nice shine to the carbon fiber.
Just cut out a huge chunk and cut out what I didn't use. If you did small pieces then you'd have gaps, something that would kill the look, IMO. Also I have the OEM carbon fiber accessory pieces around my cupholders, under the di-noc.
You can do your whole interior with about 4 square feet.

The easiest and cleanest way to do it is take the whole center console out piece by piece, take every piece apart even the 2 center pockets, took about 2 hours but well worth it. Every little piece in the console comes apart, even the wood grain or cf flat pieces that are on the 2 pockets
P.s Don't forget to plug the seat heater and cigarette switches back in

On the center console where the doors are under the tape player (I hate saying that), regarding the OEM cover/color.. it has a small edge. Like a lip. ya know? My car has that light brown wood image. And it goes around the edge a little bit. I dont suppose you wrapped that plastic film around the edge did you? Theres nothing really to stick to.
And I dont want any tan/light brown showing up on the edge if I put black film on the face of the compartment doors.. Did you use a black magic marker to hide any corners/edges?

If it's done right, I think it will look great, but you have to cover all wood surfaces with the CF, otherwise there's too many different appearing surfaces going on (wood, metal, CF, and camel colored plastics). My advise is to try it out with a smaller piece of the CF, and maybe do the door interior over the wood first (don't spend a lot of $$$ on a much larger piece)- if you like it, complete the job and if not, it's easily removable.

Hey
Hey dude great work. And I really just have to mention: I don't know what you're doing right, but man you're car is gorgeous. Extremely clean dude. I just got my used 2004 TL and I'm 17. I bet you used to walk out all the time just to look at your car (if you're like me). I still do haha.

My apologies for semi-abandoning this thread. Here goes.
Mmm carbon bronze pearl. Look into some of the other di-noc colors available. I think there's a color that's a bronzish just like CBP. That'd be sex.
No sir I didn't wrap it around those edges but I know what you're talking about. It remains pretty hidden with the OEM cf shit, but the Di-Noc can do just about anything with heat, so you should be able to wrap it around that edge to cover it.
Meh. That'd be overkill and would clash, IMO.
I'd say give it a shot. I'm not sure how CF and camel interior would mix though.
Word. This stuff is pretty cheap so its not a biggie if you rip it all off if you don't like it.
Yessir you can wash it, no problems. I go through the touchless car wash every now and then even.
And it fairs just fine in hot humid climates.
it's easy!
Although that'd look nice, I'd be concerned with the ambient heat that builds up in there. I doubt it'd last too long without any kind of coating.
Thanks man! I really appreciate it. I try to keep my car clean and subtle. And yes- I'm known to spend some quality time in my garage with my TL...

hey the car looks great. The grille caught my attention, last week i was trying to vinyl my grille but it didn't go so well.
So here's a question. How did you manage to go around the curvy area. And did you take the bumper off?
Again, nice ride.

wow, this looks amazing. I really want this in my car, but I'm anal about resale value. Will this stuff be harmful to my paint, or to my interior after, say, around 3-5 years? Any advice from anyone would be really helpful. Thanks!

Thanks guys, haven't seen this thread in a while. I'm thinking about peeling it off the grille and doing something different though.
To the person asking if it'll do any damage: no it will not. People wrap their roofs and hoods with this stuff with no issues. It peels right off and leaves no glue.

Taking it apart is the biggest pain.
