Looks better if you have all CF matching.
OEM faux CF looks kind of glossy...
the DiNoc stuff is more matte.

Yeah I'm gonna order another 8 square foot roll soon. I thought about doing a CF roof with this stuff, but that might be a bit too much. I'll stick with black.

Well those were my ideas too I'm debating the rear spoiler right now.....just not sure on how well it will hold to the rear window. Probably do the rear deck lip that I have too.......I'm gonna wait till I get the product first.
Wrap the rear decklid lip! I wanna see what it looks like.

Not rice, IMO.

But nope it hasn't wrinkled one bit since I put it on about a month ago. The adhesive on this stuff it pretty good.

Fake, yes. Doesn't look nearly as fake though.

Yeah the OEM trim is very glossy. And from afar, it just looks like black plastic trim.

Two each their own, but everyone who's seen it loves it.

Have you considered spraying clearcoat on the outside pieces for extra protection? just like a clear enamel just to prevent it from chipping from rocks/elements.

I'm in the process of doing my emblems. I can't seem to get the corners to work properly.

Here's a sample of my emblems. They don't look that good. lucky i bought a spare set off of ebay for 5 bucks.

The carbon fiber website shows what clear coating parts looks like. I was going to try a couple small pieces to get an idea before I do something on the car.

Also, on the emblems are you using heat? I use heat and work in less than 3 sq inch sections at a time.....no problems yet and I've done a few rounded edges The longer you hold heat to it, the easier it gets to work with. You can usually see the film go limp after holding a blow dryer to it for about 10-15 seconds....sorta feels like warm cling wrap and is just as easy to work with. It seemed like heating it made the film almost wrap itself around corners. Give that a try.

I'm dealing with very very small amounts of vinyl. The curving is fine, it's the excess. I'm using a hair dryer but i'm nto sure if i need to stretch it then what do i do with the excess.

I think that the Di-Noc is just too think to really wrap the ACURA letters without wrinkling and stuff. I like the idea though. I might try to do my Acura "A" on my trunk.

Haha melt- no. Stretch+wrinkle- yes. I'm gonna find a strong adhesive to use if I go through with it.

I wouldn't do that. I like the matte look anyway.

I think I'm gonna try it not this weekend but the next. Spring break for me is next week.

If it doesn't look decent, I'll spray it black.

^^ Yeah just pull at it a little....don't stretch it too much. Start with "flat pieces" and then as you get to the corner start using more heat and stretching it. What I've done with the excess is to wrap it around the piece and cut it on the back some where. Good luck.

I applied everything directly to the interior pieces- didn't take anything apart at all. As for cutting, I used a razor blade.

Bumping this thread so I can give some input...Those ACURA letters should do fine. However I'd follow a few simple rules...

1. I found a heat gun to be far superior to a hair dryer. And I mean far. That's what is recommended for install, so use it.
2. On rounded corners, edges, sharper areas cut the material in strips on the other side. Then work your way around. The issue with the rounded parts and corners is the 'extra'. If you layer it onto of itself via slits, it'll lay down flat.
3. When heating, don't heat too much and don't stretch too much, or it'll lose the cf look and go straight black.

Enjoy.

P.S. I am doing my entire grille and the front lower apsec spot tonight.

Post pics when you're done with the grill, cause that's what I'm planning on doing! Also if you have any hints about the lower aspec spot let me know, cause I'm planning on doing that one too.

The Di-Noc grille is holding up great after a few months now. Had plenty of 80 degree days already and nothing is coming loose. Good sign. From 20 minutes ago-

Well, I was at the shop till 3:30am this morning doing this grille. Ugh. Doing the di-noc on the center bar piece was incredibly difficult to get to be wrinkle and air pocket free. Anyways, I plan on doing something with the inner gray too, I just ran out of dinoc. And to be honest, I'm not sure I like this. At least not on NBP. I may just buy an extra and have it body matched. What do you all think? And I haven't really' overlayed' anything with dinoc. I've been taking apart and completely wrapping.

And yes, I realize the "cf" is misaligned. Would have been impossible to get to stay perfect.

your work looks good, i personally am thinking about just wrapping the center bar, and leaving my top/bottom pieces color matched

another idea is to cut the cross bar out, and use the CF to line the gray area (the inside of the cut out)

Maharajamd- your grille looks fantastic. Mine had a feel small wrinkles that I just wasn't able to get out when I did it but I see yours doesn't and I'm jealous. Haha. I need to order another roll of this stuff.

Dude you could charge people to do this there cars. Good job as for around the air vents well i dont know that might be a little to much but what you have done looks great. The grill well done. It seems to mold pretty good ex. the indention on the grill. is that just with the application of heat?
