Extended Warranty
#2
To each his own, but I bought one through my dealer.
After first I was skeptical (I rarely buy warranties), but with the navigation system and all the electronics in this car I went with the 6 yr./100K warranty.
Now after reading about all the various things that can go wrong on this forum (tranny, oil problems, navigation sys., etc.) I am glad I went ahead and bought one.

$ 1,100 ........... Increased my payment by about $23 a month.
Dealer offered at $1,300 (scam price) and I found an exact offer on the internet with another Acura dealer for $1,100. Still a lot to pay and can be found cheaper through another non-Acura seller, but I didn't want to go thru the hassle of Acura potentially not recognizing another warranty and or that warranty not recognizing the work reccommended by Acura ...........
In the long run, if your Navi-system needs replaced after 50K miles that should cost at a minimum about $2,000 to $2,500 to replace.

You can buy it online on http://www.curryacuracare.com/index.cfm#
use the pricing link to determince the actual price...BTW you have till your current warranty expires to decide whether to buy the new warranty or not.

If you wait to buy the extended warranty....
This may be a dumb question but if you wait to buy the extended warranty is it still the same price?
How many miles is the original warranty?

This is interesting. I am hoping to pick up the extended warranty within 3 years of owning the car. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to sell the car before the 3 year mark before I got an extended warranty...
Does it not matter where you purchase your extended warrantee (as long as it's from an Acura Dealer)? Is the website posted above also a dealership? www.curryacura.com seems to be a different location.

warranty
If you have Geico insurance, for literally just a few bucks, you can get the extended warranty. The only thing is, is that you pay for the repair first, and then they reimburse you, but you can get the vehicle repaired anywhere, including acura proper, with only acura parts. Or anyplace of your choosing.
I consider that a steal.
