Exact fuses to pull to reset ECU?

Hey guys,

I would like to pull the fuses to reset my ECU. Does anyone know the actual fuses to pull to do this? I have a 2006 5AT. I realize there are two "pedal" methods, but I would like to try the fuses. Thanks a lot.

This gives time for the electricity to die out and for the computer to forget everything. Same reason you would disconnect your home computer for more than a minute. It holds power for a bit in case of outages.

I would assume that the car cpu would hold power to log and store error codes and driver's settings. That's why you don't just disconnect and connect right away. You have to give it some time.

This is what you do when you need an inspection and you have a check engine light on. Disconnect battery, reset cpu, check engine light gone for a day or so. Or just long enough for you to pass your inspection.

You really don't need to do this unless. The ECU will re-learn a host of external factors pretty quickly on its own.

Use the gad pedal method....you turn the ignition to like Acc hold the gas pedal for 30 second then turn the car off and wait 2 minutes and then it resets...I think thats right there is a thread somewhere about it just search

yeh its true.. i always see a better gas response when I reset my ecu...

1. Turn the key to the on position, dont start the car
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor for five seconds
3. After 5 seconds, keep holding the gas pedal, turn the key to off position and dont take the key out
4. release gas pedal
5. wait 2 min
