engine light flashes when key is ON position

engine light flashes when key is ON position
now that i fixed my knock sensor, and the check engine light has dissappeard..i noticed that when i turn the key to the ON position, the light flashes a ton of times...
does this mean i need to plug in an OBDII scanner and clear the actual code even tho its not on? is this a ghost code?
