Does this normal? Intake Plenum

So, I ordered a P2R intake plenum gasket. I was bored so I pulled off the cover assembly just to have a look inside, and I was honestly expecting it to be a little cleaner in there.

Here's some pics of what it looks like:

looks to be the same as mine when I pulled my cover off.

I believe a by product of the EGR and PCV.

That's a relief. I mean I change my oil every 3,000 miles, put fuel injector cleaner once a month or so, and I've seafoamed the engine 3 times in the 75,000 miles I've owned it.

The EGR and PCV valve vent or recirculate gasses back into the intake manifold.

EGR:

PCV:

to keep this clean, some have installed an oil catch can and deleted the EGR.

I know in my old Jeep I blocked off the EGR valve. Is it possible to to block off the EGR on the J32A3, also how difficult is it to change the PCV?

the EGR can be blocked off by simply blocking it with a plate.

I heard ebay sells these plates. as its just a piece of metal cut in the shape of the mount.
also, p2r sells this as well.

YOU WILL GET A CEL!
currently, you cant trick the ECU into thinking that its there.
so a check engine light will come on.

If you reset the CEL will it just come back?

^yes.
I believe the ECU goes through a check list, and if it detects that its not there, the check engine light pop up.

Inaccurate describes this in one of his threads. I believe its the diet thread. he found that no resistors tricked it into thinking that the EGR was still there.

There's also pictures of his oil catch can set up.
and he explains how and why he does it.

I'll have to dig up the threads tho.

The photos look like what I saw with our Honda Pilot at 80K. I have an oil catch can that should help. I cleaned up the intake using some Carburetor cleaner from Walmat- it did a great job and probably very similar to intake cleaner- Walmart didn't have Throttle Body cleaner so I used what they had and was very happy with the results.

How many miles on the engine?

Almost 103,000 miles. Did you buy the oil catch can from somewhere or did you fab it yourself?
