Sick mod. Anyone know how much the wiper arms cost for our TL's? Mine are really faded and ugly looking.

Here's some pictures. Kinda expensive for $50 wipers, but it does look better once you move the arm down....

Great post! Good to see other ppl doing this also!

For some ppl who aren't as picky, keep in mind the wipers work just fine without the rotated position, and it'd still look better than stock without rotating it

Great mod! I'd like to do it soon. Quick question though. What if there's a little bit of rust starting to show on my wiper arms? Should I replace them entirely or can I just sand them a bit and spray paint them?

i've had these wipers installed for 6 months now, but i didn't rotate them down. they work great with all of the rain we got in colorado this summer. we'll see how they handle in the snow this winter. i like that when its time, we can just by refills for them from Honda instead of placing the entire blade.

Great post! I'm due for new wipers, so it looks like a great time to do this before the winter rains hopefully come. I just want to confirm that I can use the stock TL arms- the TSX forum link seemed to indicate needing to buy new arms too. Somebody had a total cost of $150 because the arms were included.

yes, you use the stock TL arms, only need to buy the blades themselves.

I'm going to give everyone a heads up, these aren't the ones OP is talking about:

These are 08-12 part numbers 76620-TA0-A01 and 76620-TA0-A02

OP is talkind about 13+ part numbers 76620-T2F-A01 and 76630-T2F-A01

Is there a difference? Cause there is certainly a price difference

This says that its an OEM replacement. For the ones who have the genuine blades, an anyone confirm if this will work? If it does, $16.24 w/ free shipping would be a steal.

eBay item number:180766533029
OEM replacement means it fits how OEM does, but is not OEM. The wipers are quite different if you compare them. The accord ones have the bracket on the side not top, so it allows the whole arm to sit lower.

when the time comes, I might just do this.

I have some PIAA wipers that I probably paid too much for but I'm happy with the performance, so rotating the arms down, just back the nut off, and install them 1 tooth down. No interference from doing that, they just sit closer to the bottom of the windshield? Seems like that might look better even with any arm, maybe I'll give that a try since I'm not replacing my wipers anytime soon.

yeah, just adjust the arm 1 notch down. however, a big part of hiding the wipers is to use the 13+ accord ones. if you see them in person you will see why, they mount from the side so it allows the arm to sit much lower.

If I were to only choose between getting the accord wipers, or just simply rotating the stock wipers down, I would choose getting the accord wipers.

Rotating the arm 1 notch down makes it sit much closer to the windshield cowl which I understand some ppl may be uncomfortable deviating from an OEM setting.

Answered my own question

Here's the diagram for the 08-12's

And the diagram for the 13+'s

Notice the arms mount on the side (13+) vs. top (08-12)

Both the 13+'s are available on amazon, part numbers in quoted post.

I was looking into the Bosch Icons too.. definitely will look into the OEM ones instead.

Thanks G!

Bought them from HERE

#12 Part no. 76620-T2F-A01
#14 Part no. 76630-T2F-A01

You can probably find them somewhere for cheaper with better shipping but I had to order a few other things from that site so shipping wasn't too bad for me since I had a bunch of other stuff too. They should be getting in either monday or tuesday so I'll do a quick review on them then.

Not sure if I'm overthinking this or just a complete idiot, what exactly am I rotating? I don't think it's the arm on the motor, it looks like it's just the area on the hook that the wiper attaches to, but I've looked and played around and not quite sure what exactly I rotate to achieve that. It took me this long to muster up the courage and ask on here at the risk of feeling really stupid. Could anyone provide some insight into the whole "rotating" part of it.

There's a bolt under plastic cap above where the arm attaches to the car. When you loosen the bolt, you're able to rotate the arm around the spindle the arm is attached to. Once you pick where you want the arm to sit on the spindle, you tighten the bolt and now the arm is locked in that new position. Hope that makes sense.

I've installed my blades and I love the look, I can barely tell they're there, I didn't get the chance to take any pictures but the would look exactly the same as bp_spets. It hasn't rained yet so I haven't been able to see how well they work but I am very pleased how they came out especially since I was due for new wipers.

I appreciate it, that makes absolute sense. I found that while looking, wasn't too sure what it was. Thanks!

I needed new wipers, I gave this idea a go. I like it. It's been raining like crazy. The only downside is that since the arms are rotated down, it leaves a wider unswept area at the driver's corner of the window, a good 3-4" wide in my case. It's pretty noticeable when looking at it, but when actually looking through the windshield and driving the car, it doesn't bother me.

Cool find. I like the idea of digging through the parts bin to find swappable items.

I did this mod in sunny CA and haven't had a chance to test the wipers other than post-car wash.

I tried to get the Accord wipers at my local Honda dealer but it was a special order item and my current wipers sucked. I had a pair of the Costco/Goodyear wipers in my garage and gave those a go. While not as good as the Accord OEM solution, the Costco/Goodyear wipers result in a significant aesthetic improvement. I barely see the wipers from outside and also inside too.

This and the cabin filter cutout are some of the most economical improvements you can do that cost little money but give a nice improvement.

I have the Goodyear/Costco wipers also, but to me they seem a little chunky where the J hooks onto the wiper. For the price though they can't be beat, buy 1 get 1 free. I liked the look of the Bosch Icons I had a while back better, but they're too pricey.

A little trick I've since learned is to take 303 Aerospace Protectant and spray the rubber of blade then let it dry. I do this every few months and this last pair of wipers is over 2 years old.

Love this idea. I can't stand the sight of bulging wipers. Will be tackling this "mod" sometime in the coming week.

This is amazing! I just went out and adjusted the left wiper because it stuck up too high and I hated it. I will be doing the wiper mod here soon

After having lived with this for a few weeks and several rainy days, I still like it. The Accord blades are cleaning the window just fine. The only downside is that with the arms rotated down slightly, it leaves a much larger band on the driver's edge of the window. In fact, the arm doesn't go past vertical, so there is a slight "pullback" of water by the blade- maybe an inch or so in heavier rains.

Not a big deal, in any case, especially since I keep the window Rain-X'd.

Just did this mod.

Thanks for a friend who hooked me up with a good price on the wiper blades.

Rotated the arms, too.

Only concern is that maybe the driver side arm is rotated too much?

They touch and overlap.

What do you guys think?
I haven't tested the wipers to see if it causes any problems.

The view inside is clean

I got some Single blade wipers like these below. But these are not the brand I got. I got rain-x from Pep-boys I think.

Just to update my last post, I went for a drive in the rain today, and had no problems with the wiper blades hitting each other and causing the motor to jam up.
Although, I did have my dash cam ready to witness if the wiper blades jammed up the motor lol

These wipers are perfect.
Every time they wipe, they come out of hiding, do an amazing streak free quiet job, and go back into hiding.

It's really nice.

Yup. As GP said, both blades ends' come in contact when they're both rotated down completely. For that reason I kept the drivers side sitting higher up a bit.

We were also concerned about playing with a 10years old bolt that hasn't moved a lot during its life but on my car t was practically rust free and the nut looks like its made from an inoxydable metal. So its all good!

Hello all!

I'm a Canadian guy who acquired a bone-stock NBP 2004 Base TL last July with 85K miles on it and slowly fixing the little annoyances here and there while customizing too. Just last week I replaced my power steering cooler which had rusted where it's clipped to the car and was "pleased" with the price of the part at a local Acura stealership which turned out to be $50.00. Car was rust treated always, but obviously you don't spray near the rad.

So when I saw this wiper "mod", I was like hey why not, it's cheap and I'm due for a wiper replacement anyway with winter coming. Love the clean look of it.

Except it's not cheap at all in Canada. Stealership wants $43 for each wiper, plus then ~15% sales taxes. That's $100 worth of wipers... Tried 3 different dealerships and they're all the same price.

Contacted a few US etailers and while the price for the parts is good (~40 USD or slightly under) the shipping with UPS at around $35 to $45 (still US dollars) is what really kills the deal. With currency rate exchange it ends up being a $10 difference between buying locally or ordering online.

So I'm wondering if any of you guys either got contacts you could hook me up with or any alternative way for me to acquire these wipers. I don't expect parity to US prices, but 90.00 to 100.00 CAD is just too much for something you guys seem to be doing for 50 or under.

Cheers in advance and I'm glad to be part of Azine as a member instead of just a lurker!

Welcome to Canada, where all prices are marked up.

If a part is under 100$ CAD, I usually bite and get it anyways.
Not worth the hassle of saving money, then paying for shipping, then taxes, and duties, and also wait time.
