Yeah I'm aware our prices are market up, but twice the price for wipers is just egregious.
And $50 more on wipers is $50 less on something else on the car!

How much did you pay for yours? I'm in QC but I might visit people from the 31st of Dec to the 3rd of Jan near Niagara Falls, so I might be able to get them from across the border I imagine. Just the holidays timing isn't excellent.

For some reason I can't edit my posts. Probably don't have enough of them yet.

Anyhow I bought a trim piece for Wife's Civic and 2 of each of the extra blades for these so the price was a little high. The new arms actually come with new "wiper refills" in them so maybe I shouldn't have gotten so many extras but they weren't that much. You can see the part numbers on the receipt from Majestic. If you just went with the arms you're looking at right around $50. If you actually need new wipers that is not a bad price since you would probably shell out about $20 for replacement blades anyhow.

Thanks a lot OP for pointing out something I never paid any attention to and now I can't get in a car without looking at eh wipers and thinking how fugly they are. At least you showed a way to fix this fugliness, and for that we thank you.

These are just the inserts though, not the wiper blades. Sorry for double post, when I'm able to edit them I shall.

Allow me to shake my fist at Azine forums.

Can't wait to "tackle" this "mod" on Tuesday though.

Ok. So what to ask for? The wiper arms or just the blades? Kinda confusing after reading some posts. Some are referring to the arm and some the blade.

K.Linday, you need the arms because they connect to the posts on the side, instead of over the top. That's one allows them to be lower.

If you have a TL, you only need the wiper blade part. Wiper arms usually refer to this:

Wiper blade:

Wiper insert (the rubber part):

And the diagram for the 13+'s

Notice the arms mount on the side (13+) vs. top (08-12)

Both the 13+'s are available on amazon, part numbers in quoted post.

Quoting this so people who skip right to the third page know what to get. You'll have to go to my first post on the second page you skipped to get the part numbers though.

Post Number 49 or 59

I read the whole thread and didn't come across an answer for this. Can you use aftermarket blades for the 13+ accord to achieve this same effect? Or must they be the actual part from Honda? I would think you could...

The answer to your questions are maybe. The effect is achieved/aided with the 13+ OEM Honda blade because of its side mount design (see my post two posts up). I haven't seen any aftermarket blade with a side mount design, but they may exist. I think the 08-12 Honda design is going to look better/be less visible than Third Gen. OEM/ cheap aftermarket, so it really depends what you're after. But the lowest profile design that I know of for our cars that isn't custom made for a ridiculous amount of money is the 13+ OEM blade.

Also, since the wiper arm sits lower, I was able to rotate the arm counterclockwise so it hides even more.
The end result is a wiper that is pretty much 100% hidden.

That's a good idea! I have been using flat blades on all my vehicles for years now, but the top/side mounting idea is interesting.

On a side note, let me do you a favor in return:

Sorry if the link was broken lol. The product linked was for Wipe-New, and I was only teasing about the faded plastic trim . It is just a petroleum based plastic restorer, there are others like meguiars if you have a brand preference. I used it on my plastic trim at the windshield base and all the plastic under the hood and it worked like a charm!

look into black wow, or fade to black. Bunch of products out there to restore faded trim for a LONG time.
