Some times its an easy fix, sometimes it’s not.

For me it was simple. I was replacing tail lights and had pulled the trunk liner out, which meant I had to pop up the dvd drive too. Didn’t secure the screw down and the player would jiggle and on bumps would give me that error. Secured them and never had the problem again.

Only other time I get error is if I have suitcase or something heavy in trunk and it slides around and hits the player hard it can cause it to skip (still just a disc reader).

If its contestant when you turn the car on, check the disk and make sure its not scratched, run a cleaner disk through the player and make sure the laser is clear. Otherwise it could be a bad disc reader which may not be worth the trouble.

Good luck.

The DVD drive for navi unit took a dump, either swap with a used one or send yours out to re-furbished. I this point I would do phone mirror kit instead.

Go in the trunk and on right side is the Navigation unit. Remove the disc and wipe it down & re-insert. It's happened to me 3 times over a period of several years & each time the Navi disc was dusty.

Mine did that periodically then it eventually failed a few months ago. I barely use it so will find a used disc reader later if need be. Anyone know the interchangeability between years and models (MDX, RL, etc.)?

Mine does that when it is cold and I haven't driven my car for a few days. Goes away once my car warms up. But once my car warms up enough, the lower right and left hand corner of the touch screen won't work. Currently looking for a refurbished OEM head unit but they seem much less available than they were a few years ago.

Any Acura White DVD will do.

How about the disc reader? Can that be taken from other models?
