Different LED DRL [Pics]
Different LED DRL [Pics]
I recently bought the new vleds LED harness for the LED DRL bulbs. I had originally put in a set of 5000k white LEDs to run as my DRLs.
I recently changed up the look to a set of amber LEDs for the DRLs. I wanted to change up the look to match my other cars.
Here's a few pics of the transformation for comparison.

I think the results turned out well and gives the car a much more sinister look than with the white DRLs.

i like the white better. looks cleaner, like it's supposed to be there. pictures make it look like a complete solid output of light.
the ambers...not so much. output looks blotchy. maybe it's just the pictures.
but it's all about what you like, and if you like them, then that's all that matters. props for being different.
OP, where did you get your original 5000k white bulbs for the DRL's?
i'll take them off your hands if you want...

for DRL's i like the amber. they really stand out and serve the purpose of what DRL's are designed for. but you could have got a very similar look with just a regular bulb swap. i am currently running nokia hyper yellow bulbs got em for under $15 shipped.
but the leds do look good they last longer and use less power.

hmm that is what i thought, lol i went out to my car a couple times to make sure i wasn't seeing imagining it. literally flicked my lights on and off a few times

used them for about 3 weeks.
also, the white bulbs looked the same way the amber ones did, just cannot tell in the pics.
the multi-points from the LEDs look very sharp in the reflector housing for both bulb colors.
i'm really digging the amber because it matches my c5.

Looks great, actually makes the car even safer as it stands out and is more visible. Its just right. Not quite as orange as the DRLs Toyota uses in their cars, thankfully. Nice work.
the amber DRLs look particularly nice at dusk and dawn or whenever you can drive around with just the parking lights on.
they make a great match to the front factory side marker lights and fender lights.
