Did you get your dash replaced?

For those of you who may have had the blemishes/marks on the dash over the passenger airbag, did you get your dash replaced? How did it turn out? Do you have any advice you would like to share? Thanks

I didn't realize this was an issue for other people. I have two approx 1" marks above and on either end of the glovebox. Complained about it to the dealer at pickup who had the detailing guy clean it up a little. As long as I keep the dash in order you can't even notice it. Other people have the same problem?

I think everone has the indent for the airbag. One issue I have and have seen other people have is the dicoloration of the whole passanger side of the dash. Mine looks like it is faded out in certain places and the car is an 05.

I have complained about the dash issue. For now, dealer has cleaned the dash with some treatment and it looked a little better. Acura said, they are working on a solution, my dealer said replace the dash is a bad idea as it will introduce more rattles to the car. And I agreed with that.

I bet the service techs will have about 4 pounds of hardware left over after they "finish" installing a new dash. That seems like a risky replacement for a couple of lines you can barely see.

not so much the lines - those are there no matter what - but it is the browning, fading of the passenger side of the dash that looks like shit. But I TOTALLY agree - I am not going to have them rip out dash and hand me a baggie of "extra parts" when they are done. Maybe it is more noticeable in the Ebony interiors since they bump right up against the ebony door trim etc - which is nice and black. I'll take faded over f'd up anyday though. Hoping someone mixes together a nice lotion we can rub on there - other than 303 etc. Shoe polish is next.

are we talking about the lines above the passenger airbag? Because I have it too. I believe it is from the registration sticker I had on my car from the dealer, until i put on my license plates. It does bother me and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Motor Trend reported this problem in its long term evaluation of the TL in the October issue. I used some 3M leather/vinyl product that helped.

I've had my dash replaced but not due to the blemishes. The original dash didn't have the fading problem but the new one does - fairly badly. Just used the 303 - it helped somewhat. Vinylex seems to do a better job.

BTW - I've had NO problems with the new dash as far as rattles, fit, bag of extra parts, etc. Kudos to Autowest Acura of Stevens Creek for doing a great job.
