Depressed???

As we know, TL got so many small problems... like rattles, transmission recall,

roof fallen, bla bla bla...

Do u regret getting this car? or say u depressed because of so many problems?

pls explain ur choice~

Even though I voted no problems, I have minor rattles that's it. I love my car. When I go in for my first oil change I'll address them at that time. I went once before but when I went on the test drive with service we heard nothing as if I was surprised that happened. You should add a vote for not depressed minor problems and will keep car.

80/20 rule 20% of the people are having 80% of the problems ... since people are usually more apt to complain than to praise, the most vocal on here will be those having issues looking for support.

I don't think I am one of the "lucky" ones, I just feel bad for those who aren't enjoying their vehicle as much as I am enjoying mine.

I completley agree with the 80/20 rule. Unfortunatley, it always seems like the 20 percent are also the most vocal and annoying. Oh well, I just think that in this day and age, you have to EXPECT rattles. I mean think about how much work and how many pieces went into making this car. Can you really expect, that while being produced on a major assembly line, that a car can come out perfect with not one rattle??

I am completley in love with my car. Does it have a few rattles?? Yes. But you know what, the car is mechanically sound and will be for many years to come. Just imagine if you were to buy an "american" brand-you would have a car/truck with hundreds of rattles-not to mention the fact that it will die much sooner than our Acuras-that is besides the "tranny issue".

Perfect = Dull
Worry about the things you can control
You can't and don't want to pay for perfect
Expect to much - Expect to be disappointed

I'm far from perfect, why should I expect anything or anybody to be perfect?

My TL is very good by the way, only very minor issues as expected.

Nope. Depression was after the first big rock chip on my lower door. But that's life on NJ's wonderful roads.
No major problems (well despite the battery post I just made), all normal type stuff as far as a noise here or there. With Temperature changes some sounds go away, some appear...Awesome car, would buy another in a heartbeat and mine is an early build 13xxx - I still smile each morning riding into work.

Although I voted for "yes(depressed), although there are several problems on my TL, i will keep it anyway~"... not for the most obvious reason... specifically, we had our first big blizzard of the winter, and I haven't been able to go anywhere... not really the fault of the car at all... the TL is a great vehicle... just times like this make you want AWD or a 4x4 and good ground clearance... also, I have come to the conlcusion owning something you like so much can be a rather big pain in the ass because you don't want anything to happen to it... ah well... when summer roles around again, I'll be happy once more...

(So basicailly, its really the Winter that is depressing... at least now we have more than enough snow for some good snowboarding... too bad I live on flat land)

I just got my 2005 TL a week ago-love it! But I am just waiting for a trucker to spit some rocks at my front bumper/windshield/etc...

Drive Rt. 18 (NJ) to work every day. Too many trucks, too many stones. My 2003 TL needed a windshield after 18 mos.

Good Luck!

Ed

Too many blind spots in this car. Rear headrests, side curtain pillars are thick. Must be alot more wary than in '03 TL

Nope, not depressed at all. I still love the car 15 months after purchase. This may be the car I actually keep for 100k miles! OK, I said that about my 2002 TL.....and my Dodge Intrepid......

Mine is still less than 2 months old. I was on the depressed side a few weeks ago. Not because of the car itself, just a bit of general buyers remorse. But then I took a 2000 mile road trip and now I couldn't be happier.

Please keep in mind the nature of these forums. A small percentage of people are true enthusiasts and will find their way here. More of us are the kind of people that will seek out this place before buying to try to get information. But the majority will be people that have problems and find this place to see if there are more people with problems or if theirs is unique.

It's the nature of forums like this one. There's nothing unique about this place, it happens with all forums dedicated to a product. Very few people that buy a car like this will ever post about it anywhere.

Heh, San Diego is a great city, love it there! I could handle substituting wakeboarding for snowboarding... not as good at it, but I think that has something to do with the 8 months winter vs 4 months summer thing...

One day I will escape the frozen north...

Not only am I not depressed, but any time I get in my new TL, I'm totally in heaven. This car is just awesome and anyone who reads this forum and makes a decision to not buy the car based on the complaints of the vocal minority are just plain stupid. Go drive a TL and decide for yourself if it's a piece of sh*t. I drove 3 before buying mine, and none had any rattles or other problems whatsoever. I'm soooo glad I bought my TL and have no regrets.

I'm not depressed; however, I am disappointed that a company like Acura would produce a near lux vehicle with so many rattles. I love my TL and for the money it's a great car, I just wish that the Acura would pay more attention to build quality, I've driven in 15K Toyotas that feel more solid. Having said that, I still buy the TL in a heartbeat.
