A variation on an old question...

First off, let me start by saying that I am aware that pretty much all cars out there have rattles... I also know that many people are sick of hearing complaints about the rattles... I am not going to complain, but I am curious...

I bought my TL back in April and I have since developed 4 or 5 rattles in various locations...

1) Passanger B-Pillar (Attempted to get fixed at dealer, returned shortly there after...

2) Fron Passanger Door storage compartment (Fixed)

3) Something up around the RVM (No idea, don't really care)

4) Rear sub area (Don't really care)

5) Driver side door (New today, haven't located...)

Anyways, my question to those with the rattles... do most people just have one or two rattles, or is it usually an all or nothing thing? Please don't shoot me for asking this question...

And I NEVER have good luck...

I don't believe I have any... I've had my 05 now for just over 8 weeks... Are most of these rattles people here OBVIOUS with no radio on? Or are these barely perceptible???

I've had my 2005 for 9 days and not a single rattle.

Do these rattles usually start after several months/thousands of miles? (sorry, don't mean to hijack)

I've had my 04 for exactly 3 months today. No rattles or buzzes whatsoever. The only objectionable noise is from those round rubber things that Bridgestone calls tires.

It would seem it really would depend on "luck of the draw". The only rattle that I have that I would love to go away, started on day two... everything else has come up over time. My latest one showed up yesterday and I am just approaching 5500k (I'm a low milager... 600-700k/month)

I have to say the results of the poll are interesting... I figure the sample size is large enough at this point that it will pretty much settle around where it is now... I was kinda hoping for a slightly lower number on the 0 though (Like 33%'ish)... just because it would make me feel better

Ah well.. when the coldness goes away, the volumn will go back up on the Stereo... then I wont care as much

If one were to do a rattle/build date analysis I bet that early build cars have more rattles than newer cars. Part of the difference may be do to accumulated mileage, but I think the folks that assemble these cars may be much better at their jobs than they were a year ago. Just a thought.

I noticed a minor rattling sound coming from the (2) cubbies below the tape deck / silver plastic trim around the shift knob area ~ 2K miles ago.

I haven't had time to diagnose -- I survive by turning up the volume so that I don't have to hear it.

My 5AT w/ NAVI has 8,000 miles...any suggestions on how to fix?

My two carbon fiber doors under the radio, then something on my rear deck is rattling -- sounds like it might be the trunk bars......I also think the sound deadening is insufficient for a 30+K car. But I just bought a shitload of dynamat.....

The ONLY time I hear anything rattle is when someone doesn't get the passenger side seat belt back in it's "unused" position correctly.....but that's not the car's fault.
