Dealer Won't Give me Back my TL-S!!!
Guys;
I brought in my 07 TL-Type S for some service items 3 days ago and they don't want to give it back to me.
I brought it in for a few items such as:
They replaced the door seals but aren't happy with the results so they want to keep it longer to resolve. I am shocked they are spending this much time on it.
I also told them I wasn't happy with the rotor rust so they filed it all off and used high temp black caliper paint to paint all my rotors and calipers for $220.
So far this is one of the best service experiences I am having. They are addressing every issue I tabulated for them all while I am in a loaner car.

It's good that they are addressing all the issues. Might as well get it all done at once.
If I am going 40mph or higher, I can hear wind noise from the driver side window. My 05TL wasn't this bad but I know all 3G TLs suffer this. Wondering if there is an aftermarket mod to fix this?

hmmm, this is getting interesting.
I would call them and tell them you need to come get some stuff out of your car, that way you can check it out
lmao at the cobalt as a loner for a TL...they tried to give me a neon that someone had traded in once...I was like NO, i am NOT driving that POS! I made them rent me an altima from enterprise

I usually don't take my cars in for extended service.. but I've always gotten something good. My last two were an WDP '08 TL and a WDP '08 RDX [blah]. I've even seen some Type-S loaners..

I'm surprised they don't loan out Acura's??? I wounder if the size of the dealership has any effect on that??
I forgot to mention they are also giving me a new Key since one of my keys no longer locks in place.
I will call them now to get a status and jokingly ask if they damaged my car.
#27
hey if they wreck my car I will insist on getting me a new 08 kbp or red. I definately won't accept a car with body damage but I can't imagine they did anything.
Maybe they screwed up paint on rotors and ordering new ones??? He did claim the brake rotors look awesome painted though....
He even said this car body style is way nicer than the 4G and they had to paint the grills on the 4G to get them selling LOL

i think you just wasted $220

are you serious? rotors naturally rust when you don't drive the car for a while. the rust goes away when you drive and brake. so when you say they filed it, i hope they did a good job on keeping the surface flat? if not, then your rotor is gonna feel as if it was warped. and they painted your caliper and rotors? why? when you brake, its gonna scrape all that paint off.

My service manager is gone for the day but I spoke to another one who claims their Master Tech has been working on my car and he is the one that also painted my rotors and calipers which is a relief that it wasn't some pimply faced teenager doing it
I still can't get a straight answer as to the fix to the wind noise but this guy hasn't been involved. He claims he will talk to the tech tomorrow morning and get back to me.
I also asked him to verify that their tech followed the proper bedding proceedure when replacing my pads but he seemed oblivious to what that was. Hopefully I get better answers tomorrow.

When I took my TL in for service the loaner I got was a CSX. Not sure if all their loaners are CSXs or if that's just what I got. I had mixed feelings about it, on the one hand I woulda preferred somethign larger and more powerful but on the other hand the CSX got great fuel economy.

Im glad they are doing the right thing but I always feel dealers are such bullshit artists man. I bet the truth is they just didnt get to the car yet and so instead of saying they haven't gotten to it, its more impressive to say that in the process we found "this and that" and we want your car to be perfect so its taking more time. I'm not trying to knock the OP but its just dealers playing their cards right in the name of business. I'm willing to bet that this is what is really going on behind the scenes.

Wow I didn't know dealers that didn't loan non Acura's. I think Park has 20 loaners and they rotate them in and out. 6 this week, 6 the following week.
Each week they have 2 TL's, 2 TSX's 1 RDX, and 1 MDX.... If every loaner is out they usually pull one from the back. Everytime I go in I usually request my loaner ahead of time to ensure its available.
