Dealer quote on OEM 18"

Working out the dealer accessories my salesman is quoting $1,637 for the OEM wheels and $1,452 for the GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3’s. What a joke. I can understand a markup but let me keep my pants on. I know a few online dealers asking around twelve bills for the wheels and the tires from tirerack are around $233/ea.

Question is…….. is anyone purchasing through the dealer for these?

I purchased my 18" rims from ebay for $970.00 + $90.00 shipping, NO TAX, from Norm Reeves Acura in California. I then purchase OEM spec Kumho tires (ultra-high performance all -season) from tirerack for $500.00 shipped. I love the wheels, and the tires, and I have great all-season traction.

Question...if you are gonna spend money on wheels, why not get aftermarket wheels that are a bit different?? It seems silly to invest a lot of money into OEM wheels that a lot of people are gonna have. Just my 2

well i me personally i shy away from after market stuff. alot of the times the fit and finish doesn't always look right. in this case its wheels and the finish should be fine. but someone here got a set of aftermarket rims and it did not clear the brembos. i am not going to jimmy rig stuff to fit. i like the look of the A-spec rims and don't really care that alot of people are getting it.

I like being different. But, I couldn't find any aftermarket wheels that I liked and I looked a lot. I wouldn't have most of the wheels I've seen posted here. Most do nothing for me. Some are downright ugly. No way I would ever have chrome either. I prefer the OEM's at this point. Just my 2 cents.

I do have to admit that the OEMs look really nice, but I think I am a bit against them because I have my dream rims I am thinking about getting, and I have to convince myself that all other rims look like crap before I invest in those.

I'm with you dcarlinf1. I have looked everywhere for some sharp looking 18's that will clear the Brembo's. Nothing can compare with the OEM's plus at under 1000, the price isn't that bad either.

you do realize the 18" wheels are just rebadged Nakayama Vador 5's.... you can get them in silver, hyper black and racing black, and of course the gunmetal from the dealer... if you want to pay less, and have a diff color, but same style... Nakayama Vador 5 is the exact wheel that the 18" wheels are for the TL.. here's a pic to show you

I thought the offset on the OEMs were slightly wider? 8.5 vs 8 or something.

OEM offset is 45. OEM wheel width is 8.5"

Not sure about the Nakayama's offset, but the width is only 7.5". At least all the Nakayama's I found were only 7.5". I also only found 2 colors (Hyper Black and Gloss Black). I really like the Hyper Black Nakayama's and that's what I would've bought if they were 8.5" wide.

My OEM's are somewhere between CA and KY as we speak. I can't wait to get them.

The OEM stock 18" rims are ENKEI made for Acura. They are made in Japan.

I couldn't find any wheels 18 x 8.5 that I liked. In fact, I couldn't find any at all with the correct bolt pattern.

I'm also interested in getting the OEM 18s in silver ...since my interior is parchemnt and my car is WDP...i don't think the OEM gunmetal 18s would look good on my car even if i dropped it...

Not much difference, IMO.

I did Google Nakayama Vador when this thread came up. Looks to me like they're out of production. Not sure on that, of course. Even if they are, you might find some used or New Old Stock.

Your right theres not much of a difference. I'm sure they are cheaper than A-spec. I've been looking them up but can't seem to find them anywhere.

Yep....exactly what I was about to say. They are ENKEI wheels like about 90% of all the other OEM option wheels out there.

I liek these too.
but they are not $970.00 + $90.00 shipping, NO TAX any more
now they are $1,450 + 95 shipping. OUCH!

anyone set up a group buy?
and I don't want chrome. too shiney pimp like.
I'd like a polished metal look like on the 2008 TL brochure.

Pretty sure you can set up a group buy.

Has to Tim at Hondacura World since he's the official OEM vendor. You'll need a minimum number of people to sign on.

Call Tim and get a price and minimum. Maybe it'll work out.

Decent rims, chrome or not, cost decent money...nuff said. Seems like I paid around $2200 for rims and tires shipped from A of E on ebay back in the day...and yep....I got the pimpolicious chrome look ones...lol. I think it was like $1400 for the rims and $600 and some odd dollars for the tires and the rest was freight. And I have bent two of em already and replaced em with new ones...big pot holes for the lose! Fixed one of em though....used it with another old set for winter tires. Now I have two sets of rims and tires - summer and winter. It was still cheaper than buying from my local dealer.
