Yes. No illumination around joy stick.

You have to take apart the center console and work your way up and eventually remove the whole navi and stereo and partially take it apart to replace bulbs in the switches.

Yeah it sounds harder than it is. It's just time consuming.

Thanks for responding, I really didn't care for the lights but now I am selling my TL, "looks like i am selling but nobody is buying, nobody loves a 05TL?". I replaced the HandsFree Link and then the stupid cup holder cover broke, so I figured while I am at it I will do the bulbs that are out. I took out most of the stuff out (the glove box, the cup holder the driver's side cover). I am stock at the auto transmission lever light, it's out also along with VSA, left seat heater switch, and left and right side heat/cold switch lights. Do you know how to get to that transmission lever light? I looked at the articles here but nobody has a diagram. And yes once you start taking stuff out it becomes easy just gotta take my time not to brake anything as this is my first time doing it on the TL.

i have a few of my climate control bulbs out.. and would like to get them replaced. DIY is not an option for me.. dealer quoted 345$ to get everything fixed. how much would it be if i took it to a regular shop?

Can you be more specific which bulbs you're referring to? Most stealerships quote around $170 to just do all the bulbs around the Nav screen which of course include the climate ones.

If you go to a regular shop, make sure it's done by a mechanic who has experience doing this before because it's too easy to damage something in the 'take apart' process.

Confirmed---there is no illumination around the navi joystick.
Yes, the dash has to come apart to get to them. There is a video sequence in the 3G Garage for how to take apart the entire center console. More info is in Section G under the LED Replacement threads.
