I pickup my 2004 Acura TL (Black on Black) from the credit union after doing 40 minutes of paperwork to get the loan through. The man hands me the keys and I just jump for joy inside ... I take it for a spin, drive home etc ... When I get home I'm like .. wow so that's what it looks like to be a bawler ... my mom says we have to drive back to get her truck (we had 3 cars, had to pick one up). So we get back into the car and driving down my street when it happens ...

There was a lady at the bottom of my street looking as though she's going to pull out. I get about 5 feet behind her to wait my turn to pull out. ALL THE SUDDEN, OUT OF NO WHERE .. she throws it in reverse fast enough to where I couldn't react and slams into the front of my BRAND NEW CAR ... I was so fucking pissed I wanted to kill a small animal. So basically, I put it in reverse so she wouldn't further destroy the front of my car in her retarded rage .. I put it in park / apply the parking break and assess the damage ... the front of my hood is bent up a little bit, front bumper completely smashed, left headlight assembly is pushed in .. what a mess.

I'm going to get an estimate tomorrow .. things aren't looking good for the people involved since it wasn't my fault.

I guest i need to park my 07 TL-S (NBP) for the rest of the month. I had a dam dump truck hit a bump in the road and dirt and rocks just fell all over the road. now i have a crack in the my front glass.

I'll drive the 98 Accord EX for the rest of the month.

That totally sucks. I hope she apologized profusely. Try not to let the "what if" gremlins get to you either. You know, the "what if I had just waited one more minute before I left" kind of thinking.
There was a guy on here a while ago who backed his new car into a light pole or something before he even left the dealers lot. I don't think he even had the opportunity to drive it forward at all.
There's always a bright side to every situation. Sometimes it's easy to see, other times you really have to look hard. From the damage I see you might wind up getting the whole front end painted. If there were any knicks or blemishes you'll wind up getting all that fixed at no cost to you. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the comforting words shalooby. It just troubles me that the car has already been in an accident and I only drove it for 30 minutes lol. Oh well, I'll get a few estimates .. it won't be pretty for the other people.

Damage is not TOO bad. Find a good shop and they'll fix it good as new. If you want cleared or blacked headlights - nows the time to do it.

most people dont understand how to properly take care of paint to avoid swirl marks so im not suprised to see them in the paint .. especially on a black car

Ugh, I guess I'm just venting right now .. but this is really fucking frustrating :\. Since my hood is smashed in to the point where the hood won't pop, I can't get my 60k mile service done and we're looking at another 3 weeks before the damage is fixed (all the autobody places I checked with are backlogged for 10+ days).

I also happen to know the manager & paint guy. Very good family friends.

This place usually handles exotics & highend cars (Thus I took my Acura there )

Yeah, get this reported to insurance as soon as you can so that everyone is on record with her admission.

I was kinda glad my NBP was at the dealership for the last few days waiting on parts (fixing the seat squeak and such). I figured it was safely stored at the dealership as I was driving their Grey TSX.

After seeing all of the end of the month hits on NBP, I'm afraid that they might be hiding something and buying time to fix the damage. I guess I'll find out tomorrow......unless that "part is delayed" again.

My story isn't as bad but I had less than 400 miles on my 07. I was sitting in the drive-through waiting for my turn to order. While waiting, I watched an employee take out the trash with a dolly. On his way back from the dumpster, he decided to run back. However, he didn't get back to the restaurant as quick as he expected because the side of my car got in his way. I love the way dents look on a new car. It just shimmers as I drive down the road.

congratulations, you just compared a three year old car's paint to a brand new bmw's paint....its a BLACK car of course its gonna have some swirl marks after three years...give Acura a break, not everyone knows how to take care of black cars properly to prevent swirl marks...

Update. I got the final estimate after they removed the bumper / popped the hood. I don't know the concrete details but lets say, $2700 estimate (4 minute inspection), $4060 FINAL ... sucks to be her. I hope she pays more.

The drive down to that autobody shop was a little far, 50 - 60 miles and I get off work at around 4 ... hard to make that drive in an hour . I ended up going to "Stroyers", they offered me the most minimal timeframe they would keep my car and I took a look at their work, wasn't bad at all. We will see, I won't sign the claim until I'm satisfied .
