Curb Damage

I was next to an old lady on a 4-lane road (she's in the left lane, I'm in the right). She decides to turn into my lane when I am pretty much right next to her.

Instead of taking the side-swipe, I decided to gun it past her and slightly turned to the right. I avoided her hitting me, but did not avoid the curb.

Tires squealed, car rode up the curb in the front and also curbed the rear wheel slightly.

The car still steers straight, brakes straight and doesn't vibrate.

My question is, how delicate is the suspension/drivetrain in our 3G's?

The 3g's are pretty much solid, I know the 2gs had plenty of problems with the tranny hopefully Acura cleared all that up with the 3g. Do you have any suspension mods? that could probably affect the damage (if there is any) to it.

I'd say head over to a competent shop and have them put it on the lift and take a nice look at it... most shops do not charge to look underneath the car for any damage... as for the rim, if the front rim is bad bad bad, you can pay for it to be repaired... or you can buy a replacement most likely on ebay or do a search on yahoo, you have the tire so that is half the battle

Did you get her license plate? If yes, I would be on the phone with my insurance company and have them research it and advise who her insurance is. I did this before when a dumptrunk dropped some small rocks and it chipped my winshield. Got a new winshield courtesy of their insurance!

It's so coincidental you mention this...today I'm driving on the highway (pretty much the first time since I bought the TL in non-rush hour traffic), so I'm doing about 70 - 75 mph. All of a sudden I hear this ping, ping ping sound...I look at the middle lane and this pick-up w/a trailer for a concrete business is dropping rocks EVERYWHERE! It literally looked like it was raining. I steered into the shoulder and sped up to get away as fast as I could (I have no scratches at all yet, that I know of, haha). I had to exit the highway then, so I didn't get his plate. But, I couldn't wait to park and inspect...everything seems OK - thank God.

I was always curious if they paid...sometimes you see trucks with signs that say 'not responsbile for falling debris', but I think it's more of a deterrant to get people not to try to collect for damages. Sort of like at the grocery store here it says 'not responsible for loose shopping carts' but if you actually go in and complain that you got hit, they will pay.

My friend was almost killed when a door fell off the back of a tractor trailer. He tried to avoid what looked like a wall coming at him, but the car ran over the door at 60mph. His car was totaled. He's lucky the Acura ran over the door rather than have it come thru the windshield. I HATE TRUCKS!!

Today...driving home....saw a truck fly by me...raining white stones out the back each time it hit an expansion joint on our lovely Pennsylvania roads. I swerved off the road to avoid the majority of the rocks, but I heard some hit my car. I'm too pissed to go out to the garage to inspect for damage. I HATE TRUCKS!!

Sometimes I feel like I should buy a semi myself......just so I don't have to worry about being killed by a speeding trucker. Hardly a day goes by where I live that someone isn't killed by a truck speeding. I HATE TRUCKS!!

My brother was run off the road when a driver swerved into his lane to avoid road debris.

No contact was made, but my brother ran off the road and grazed a telephone pole.

BOTH insurance companies said the other driver was not at fault since no contact was made. My brother's agent told him "next time, make sure there's a little contact if you know you're gonna hit something".
