Considering buying an Acura TL
Hey Guys I originally posted this in the FAQ section by mistake so if someone could go in there and delete it that would be great.
I want to apologize in advance if asking this is frustrating but I have always owned domestic vehicles and am interested in picking up a 2004-2008 Acura TL. The FAQ definitely has tons of valuable information and I see that the 2004-2006 automatic transmission is not exactly reliable nor is it cheap to fix but looks like the 07-08 has a better automatic transmission. I would love to find a clean manual but it looks like they are few and far between so I might end up settling.
So here is what I am wondering, I am not finding exact information as far as which 2004-2008 is the most reliable year or what I want to aim for. I am assuming the 07-08 is the way to go if I have to settle for an auto? If I am correct it is cosmetic differences more than anything.
Thanks in advance.

Buy rockstar143s. Super clean NBP, tastefully modded, extremely well maintained, Florida car. He's going to post it for sale very soon I think.

04-06 TL's came with manual and 07-08 Type-S models came with manual. If you want a manual, be patient and get a manual. You will regret it if you are, as you say, settling on an auto. You're in Jersey? Expand your search a little bit.

If it were me flying to Florida and driving a car back to NJ for the sake of getting a solid good car is 150% worth the trouble and time.

Problem is, I don't have the full amount in cash so I have to get a loan. Problem is (at least banks around here) are not going to give you a loan to buy a 8+ year old used car that is out of state.
I do like the Type S, there is one local to me at a Subaru dealer BUT it is automatic..ugh.

If I was selling, I'd shoot you a PM. However, my TL is like J's in FL. It's one of those super rare, extremely well kept vehicles. Like J, i'm sure he's going to be priced right considering how hard it is to find these clean, well done, properly maintained and the kicker 6MT with Navi.
Best of luck when you search, but make sure you search and search far. Don't settle for anything less than what you expect.

Yeah I really, really don't want to settle for an automatic. Stuff is just overpriced where I am. Subaru dealer with a 2008 automatic Type S that has a small dent on the front of the hood with 104K wants $11,990
Maybe I am wrong, that just seems too high for me.
