Clutch cost...

how much does it cost to get a factory clutch and how much it cost for the labor to install in the dealership?

also, is it always better to replace an aftermarket clutch after the factory clutch is worn out?

Thanks!!

I think about $2500 dependant on where you have it done. I would just go with the stock replacement clutch since aftermarket is looking shady right now.

sorry not to jack the thread or anything but I noticed other cars are cheaper when it comes to getting the clutch replaced. Will this price go down in the future due to the 4g being out and the 3g being an older model?

If you can get a clutch assembly installed for $500, I would jump at that price. Don't forget the bearing @ $35 and hopefully one would replace the assembly before it destroys the flywheel, another $500.

From what I understand, any manual front wheel drive car is going to be pricey because of the design of the transaxle. I know that the 3G has a special alignment tool for the clutch and pressure plate that adds to the cost as well.
