civic Si = destroyed

Raced my neighbors 2000 civic Si with intake and exhaust

I was on my way home from work, and saw him turn onto a road on the way to our neighborhood I was doing about 40 mph when he caught up to me I think dropped it into 2nd and took off putting about a car lenght between us and held it there until about 100 where we killed it.

It was fun after a stressful day of work.

That Si is garbage. One of the very few Hondas that went straight to incentives and rebates. The local Honda dealership back home only had one in stock, and that took forever to be gone. I don't even know if they finally sold it or traded with another dealership, but it sat there for months before it was finally gone.

Nice kill.

My friend has a red one with a B18C5 ITR swap. It's pretty damn quick. With the factory engine, it's slow unless it's heavily modded.

Yeah, he's been saving up since we were in high school too get it. Now that he has it he's broke, he's saving for a turbo kit in the next year.

i don't know why you guys are talking shit about SI's their made by honda anyways, my friend has a delsol thas like 500HP nobody can beat him in the city. and one more thing, take a k20a2 and pop it in a hatch, it will smoke a TL with no problem.

Let's talk about factory vs factory. would u be happy if I said "OH I can go buy 03 Cobra and mod it so it will destroy everything on road". It's still a cobra, not Corvette

I think when thread was started with title "CIVIC SI destoryed" that means Factory Civic SI has been destroyed. Not some SI with motor swap or anything crazy done.

so you're saying that a 225 hp TL-P that is 3,492 lbs is faster than a ~200 hp civic SI that weighs 2,612 lbs(maybe a little more cause of type-r engine)

edit: nvm i just saw all the mods on your TL.. gawddamn are you pushing similar power to a TL-S ?

the EP civic is just slow and heavy, the EK is fast even with just a B16, but they have be heavily modded to get faster than mine

my car is running faster than the stock type-S in the high end, but 1st gear is a little slower coz less torque

but when my car hits VTEC is 2nd, it's like a kick in ur butt and blow away from cars

1. Defends hatchback... check
2. Talks about engine swap into a hatch... check
3. Talks about friend's monster car... check
4. User name includes "hatch"... check

In this small town alone, there are like 6 of them rolling around. I don't know, I kind of like the subtle luxury sportiness of the TL better for some reason.

Bring your "one more thing" hatch with the K20A2. We'll see who gets a better spot at the valet.

i bought a 96 hatch back 5spd in april as a beater car for 1800(it was an awsome deal). but since there wasnt much i could do with my tl, i decided to look into turbo kits.

i love the sound of BOV so after about a week of deciding, i opted for the greddy bolt on turbo kit.i knew this was going to be a fun project and the perfect sleeper.i bolted it on in my friends garage..took about 2 days. rigged some stuff because the kit was made for the d16y8 which has vtec. my dx only had the d16y7 which doesnt have vtec. its got a custom turboback exhaust...no cat. just a ricey muffler from ebay because i was trying to keep this as cheap as possible. trans seems like its holding up.

there is one problem with it and thats the head lifting. its pushing pressure into the coolant so i will overheat if i full boost after a while. itll get fixed soon. not to mention the motor has 143k miles on it.

got the car a street tune running 8psi with no intercooler. but i have to admit i would drive the civic over the TL anyday, its a light and fun car. TL is for the date and civic is for work.
i raced one of my friend's GSR with I/H/E and i beat him, so for that milage motor its making pretty good power.

the stock engine is 106hp ran a 17.4 at the track(it was cruise night and i got a free run).
the car is riced out to some ppl. its got a big Defi tach cause the car never came with one and i got one for 80 dollars. i got a boost gauge on my A pillar.

ppl think im rice cause i have gauges, but theyre all nessesary. ppl pull up to me all the time looking to race and they always regret it after they hear the BOV as i pull away.

i dunno why i just wrote all that, lol

hey cliff, nice story. Hhaha. You were talking about GSR's? How do you think a GSR with I/H/E would stack up to a TL-S with I/H/E... just curious...
